What Was Your Last Impulsive Pen Acquisition?

When I joined FPN recently I suspected it might be trouble for me. Today I ordered a Wahl-Eversharp Decoband and can dream about it until it arrives. Not purely impulse but pretty darn close. For me the pen is just too beautiful not to have one. I'm not a collector but wanted one really nice pen for writing at home.

Retired, twice. Time to do more things, writing being one.

Not bad timing, but definitely an impulse buy - got a really nice vintage Pelikan 400 with a KM nib.

My first Pelikan and I absolutely love it. Writes like a dream. It is now one of my EDC pens.

I envy your anticipated arrival of that pen; I remember when I made my second purchase, for my "nice pen," a Delta Doce Vita Oro Oversized, with a stub nib. I was almost sitting in the driveway waiting for it. I am sure you will be happy to receive it & enjoy many years of joyous writing with it; those are perhaps the most beautiful pens I have seen made since I started "looking @ the pens available today."

Thanks. As is often said, anticipation is half the fun and so I'm having fun waiting. I'm also hoping the pen simply satisfies me and I'm content not to go further......we'll see.

YES! I love mine. I just made several entries into my work log using my Decoband, a few minutes ago. What color did you go with?

TWSBI Diamond 580 AL. I needed something with a large ink capacity that wasn't too pricey so that I had a ready supply of a conservative ink color for work.

I really like my 580, feels and writes like a more expensive pen.

A few weeks ago, I was playing with my budget and discovered that I had saved a shocking amount of money on food over the summer. Last spring, I started doing 3 vegetarian days per week, and time slipped by. Since I don't get a paycheck in the summer, I mostly just live on my budget and trust to good planning, with a checkup shortly before my first check in the fall arrives to see how I did. I was shocked.

I'd been toying vaguely with the idea of trying out a Centropen (a Czechoslovakian make) if I ever found one. I did: a 1960s celluloid model with a piston filler, gold nib, etc. I bought it before I even thought it through, though I had several weeks to go before my first paycheck. The budget did well. I was paid yesterday with a comfortable cushion well in excess of my budget still remaining. And, the pen will arrive this week.

Oh yeah...apparently it also comes with some random ballpoint thing included. I'm very excited for it to get here, even though I've never tried the pen. This will also be the most expensive pen I've ever bought, so, yeah, a bit of risk...

Mid(?) 1970's Montblanc 146 with supposedly an EF nib and ebonite feed, all original. Turned out to be a F nib - and oh so smooth!

Very impulse. A black Baoer 516 from ebay for only $2.50 USD. Supposedly the Chinese knock-off of the WE Skyline judging by the cap. But $2.50 is a price I can't regret and it's fun having something to look forward to from the mailman.

The praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards.

A Stipula Leonardo Da Vinci cracked ice with a 1.1 Italic Nib.

I really shouldn't have, but I love this thing...

Update: the Centropen is here. I'm in love.

They arrived today! I purchased a Pilot Custom 743 with a falcon nib. It's flexy, but I didn't take any pictures because....
...the real excitement is inside this red leather case.
Inside the red leather case is a trademark that may be unfamiliar to western eyes. Centropen was a Czechoslovakian brand, and this pen and pencil set is a Centropen from the 1960s. The pen is celluloid with a flexible gold nib which is honestly the most flexible nib I've ever used. I believe Centropen still exists in the Czech Republic.
The chattoyance of this pen is amazing.
Nice gold nib.
And here is some writing which, for some reason, I did on the back of a receipt.
And, just because, here is the video I spontaneously uploaded to my channel while trying to learn the Windows video world. I've figured out the video part. Now, captions, etc...
