This pen is a bold; my other M200 is an EF. So I'm good with the justification! ;)

Hmmmmm. No. Additional nib is inexpensive and easy to change. Anyway - enjoy your new BOLD pen!

Add lightness and simplicate.

The Celebries are very nice pens, I have two, the gold nibbed one, is equal to the steel nibbed one, both those springy regular flex 200 types of nib form.

I guess the last of the Celebries still had a gold nib similar to the '82-97 400's. Or mine could be from '97. I would expect my steel nibbed one to be later.

Or they could have continued making the springy regular flex nib in gold just for this pen.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

That's great to know - this one is black with a gold nib - looks wideish, but I'll find out in a couple of days! I got it for a great price, and although I suspect it needs a good clean, I'm looking forward to using it. I'm guessing a standard Schmidt K5 will fit it (though I've probably got some cartridges around somewhere that have come free with pocket pens! I've never had a Pelikan I didn't love (though I have very few modern ones) so it will be fun to have a neither old nor new one.

That is a problem with the Celebries, the width marking is hidden by the slip at the end of the section.*** Both of mine are eyeballed  F's. (I have so many old German pens, my eyeball is still stuck in yesterday's norm.

What ever width it is; will be true' nib width of the era.

*** I have no idea how to take the section apart to see something so minor, as not trusting my eyes....I might never get it together again; or even break it. :crybaby:

Not easy to change while inked up - I do use multiple ink colors and nibs over the course of a nomal day for my quotidien tasks, so I think I'm still good! I now have a messy image of me changing out a nib and creating a Roscharch (sp?) test stuck in my head.

Back in the first days of the New year, I ordered a set of "Blue Dew" flex nibs.
Perhaps not the best idea, considering the failures of the USPS.
But I did anyway...luckily, I purchased the last two for a while until the maker has a chance to create more...and of course, USPS has no clue where they are.
With a sad heart, I notified Paypal this morning that I may have to request a refund if the package does not show up. USPS dropped the ball and did not assign a USPS tracking number to it once it reached customs. So even if it is lost or not lost...they have no way to track it down.

The USPS is going to contribute greatly to the failure of this economy and the impending depression in the USA.

I managed to find a better picture than the auction house photo, Pelikan 915 Hunter, LE 3,000...................and I've not inked it yet.(Haven't looked to see if it was inked, but would expect it to have been so, in he had other flagships.)...

.....I still have too many pens inked.....but it's now the next.....at least with a smidgen of ink....not a dip test.

I as I said didn't know exactly what I was buying outside it was a Toledo ! ! !.......that I wasn't going to win any way....in a bidding fever, I went 3 X over max................... 18 K nib. 1994  B nib so it's still 'true' to size as well as regular flex.

Thank Paulo for use of your picture.....my Brownie still has black and white film in it.

Major gutted systematically, especially after the thought of absentee ballots became important.

It had been gutted and ruined before that.

USPS  had to come up with all the government pensions ...immediately, ...because UPS & FedEX got a law passed doing that, and forbidding USPS from bribing Congress like UPS&FedEx. That jacked once cheap package mail....that jacked even regular mail.

In Germany with the German Post went Private, the Government covered the pensions, and made sure the old workers were paid like before all the way out to retirement....that is why I can send something from Germany to the US for 1/3 of what it costs to mail to Germany.

That is horrible.
No other business in the US has to operate that way....insanity.
They should sue the govt for forcing them to operate that way....or do away with pensions entirely and reboot the whole business under a new name with new operating methods...like every other American business does.
Seems to be the way to do business here in the corrupt USA.

I had already commented and I repeat, this is my Pelikan grail. I've had it in my hands twice to buy it, but they tend to lose the green lacquer or be deeply scarred by fingerprints. So far, I didn't know of a solution to this problem and due to the value of the pen I didn't venture to buy to see if I could fix it, since even with these visible problems, I didn't reach a value worth taking the risk. But it is certain that any time one of these birds in excellent condition will pass through here and be welcome to the nest.

Well, with such a pen, I'd send it to Pelikan in Hanover and see what they could do....but I got more than lucky.

But then again, for so much money it had betteer show only minor use.

The Widow tossed all the boxes my lot of pens came in, along with the second lot.............or the man did himself. Being 'boxed' was no big thing, before the Used Pen Market of today.

I tossed the box my P-75 came in...in I knew how to fill it, never looked under the display bed, so it was 40 years alter that I discovered here on the com, that the P-75 took cartridges too:yikes:. That was before converters, which it also uses.  I found out it came with two cartridges under the display bed.

Before internet, we were so ignorant of so many things.....it wouldn't have been in the home's Encyclopedia.

Thanks!! It ticked a number of boxes for me as I went to school in Bexley. Also it's the first transparent fountain pen I've owned which makes it fairly unique!!! Also I had the Apache Sunset Ink which I figured would look good in the pen and give me an opportunity to use it. Thanks again!!!

Just placed an order for a Conklin Duragraph Matte Black/Rainbow with a 1.1 Stub so I can finally use my Emerald de Chivor to its full potential!

Two Wing Sung 699 pens from an AliExpress seller, still with free international shipping but without ‘hidden’ charges factored into increased product prices. (The seller tried me make me pay extra for shipping, after accepting my orders, but I got him to back off.)

I didn't really like my first one (in brown, or ‘amber’) that I got in 2019 all that much; I bought it out of curiosity, and because it isn't a Pilot Custom 823. The filling system doesn't impress me as better than either eyedropper-filling (for sheer ink capacity; burping is not an issue, in my experience with Opus 88 pens) or using a removable converter (for ease of cleaning out and switching inks), although the geometry of the pen body and heft when it's fully filled is comfortable in my hand. The stock F nib did not contribute to a good writing experience, however; and so I never even got through a single fill of ink in the pen properly, although I did changed inks in it a couple of times in search of a better fit. Having lost interest, I put it away months ago — with caps on both ends firmly screwed in place — without cleaning it out.

I've just ‘rediscovered’ the pen this past week. The ink from the previous fill didn't dry out; and I'd forgotten that I'd replaced the nib with a Jinhao I'd ground to a narrow stub, through which the ink flow can be easily adjusted. Belatedly I've discovered that the Paperblanks Flexis 100gsm paper is not fountain pen friendly, only after I've amassed dozens of them (at heavily discounted prices, and literally because I was judging notebooks by their covers); feathering is generally minimal, and show-through is not much of an issue, but there is significant bleed-through with more than half of the inks I normally use, including Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz. But I discovered that I could make PESQ work with that paper by dialling back the ‘wetness’ of the ink marks; and I could do that  with this pen. So, suddenly I find myself in a situation where I'll have to stick to two or three inks for a particular writing application, and preferably in pens with larger ink capacity than what the typical Sailor converter will hold.

The price is ‘right’ for these two WS699 pens — one with a black (or ‘smoke’) barrel, and the other with a clear barrel — after I spotted a way to maximise the store discounts on offer, and I thought it'd be handy to have three separate pens filled with three main body text colours (brown, black, and blue-grey) for whatever I write in these disappointing Paperblanks Flexis notebooks. Unfortunately, for the price they're only offered with F nibs and not EF nibs, so I'm expecting I'll have to do some nib-grinding; there is no chance that the nibs will write ‘well’ to suit my requirements and tastes out-of-the-box.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I purchased several bottles of ink earlier this month from the US, but due to Canada Post delays none of them have arrived. So much for satisfying my impulse for ink. Now I'm just hoping the freezing cold temperatures haven't caused them any damage during shipment.
