What Was Your Last Impulsive Pen Acquisition?

Two Sailor Professional Gear Slim pens (fitted with MF nibs, as there are no other options for the model), and a Sailor Professional Gear Slim Midnight Ocean with a Zoom nib, just arrived at lunch time today.

😄I'm delighted by how quickly my order from EndlessPens in Florida on Black Friday 2020 was delivered to me in Australia, in spite of:

* the Sailor mini converters were a pre-order item at the time, with a notice to say “will ship on December 3” on the product page, which will hold up the other in-stock items on the same order;

* I received a communiqué from EndlessPens on 3 December (Sydney time, so 2 December in the US) to advise there would be shipping delays while they dealt with 7 days of backlog after the Black Friday sales; and

* these were sent by USPS First Class International post — and, given the temporarily halved free international shipping threshold at the time of ordering, I wasn't expecting different — and I've seen major (six-week) delays with parcels sent that way to me earlier in second half of 2020.

In the face of the above, I was frankly (and grudgingly) expecting that there's a fair chance I wouldn't receive my order before Christmas; never mind actually getting my hands on the pens a mere 12 calendar days after ordering!

I'm also pleasantly surprised that the Sailor Pro Gear Slim pens are still factory-sealed in their plastic sleeves, while the Sailor Pro Gear came with a regular converter that wasn't mentioned in the product listing as an inclusion in the price.

Note: I have no other affiliation or relationship with EndlessPens, other than being a happy repeat customer, even though I haven't bought all that much from them this year since they put up the ‘free’ international shipping threshold two-fold.

Just tonight, a blue-striped M405 and now Christmas is sorted. And that's it, no more!

Received a discount offer on a Smoky Quartz gift set for the munificent price of $75. Couldn't very well pass that up. 🙄

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

OK, So now I'm jealous. LOL. And I was already annoyed that our internet wasn't playing well for the Black Friday sales, but really is a good deal. Lucky you!

Will work for pens...

I just bought my very first Ranga and it is so lovely to use. Smooth as butter and I do so love Ebonite.

May I ask what nib option and model you got?

Pen frenzy for me right now, got an Aurora 88P and a Pelikan M600 Black/Green F, considering a Ranga pen to round it out. Either a Ranga pen or a burgundy Parker 51, which I've wanted for a bit now. Having them shipped to my permanent address and I'm a few hundred miles away from there so it'll still be a couple of weeks before I can play with those pens, I'm excited

Wow, and I thought I managed to get it unrealistically cheaply last July! (The price may be neck in neck with what you got it for, depending on the exchange rate at the time.)

Congratulations on scoring!

A Moonman T1

A Lamy in the gold and black trim from Cult Pens

A mini brass Moonman

I am getting to really like the Moonman products especially that the nibs are rather easy to grind into a stub/Italic.

I like small brass pens like the Delike brass versions. How do you like the mini brass Moonman? Thanks.

The 3 Lamy Special edition safaris that came out. Then I remembered I hated the way the capping click sounds.

Filled the Mango with Noodler's Apache Sunset. <8]

Mabie Todd & Co Swan Safety Cap
Saw it available on a website and decided to go for it.
No regrets...it's a wonderful pocket pen and in pristine condition!!
I struggle with not carrying it everyday...it's so small and yet more capable than any other flex pen I own.
Truly "simple abundance" made physical...

I hadn't bought anything since Covid started. I was checking out the new Classifieds and ran across a pen that I had always had in the back of my mind. More details when it arrives...

I said no more pens, but wanted to get my hands on this Olive green Studio before I lost the chance. I don't know how limited they are but I've been eying one in this colour for a while and was starting to find fewer stores with it in stock.

I just got a Conklin Duragraph Duraflex Elements - Limited Edition Fire with a broad nib.

This is the first "next level" pen I've bought and I am so happy with it.  I filled it with Noodler's Navajo Turquoise ink and I love it.

Nothing recently, but I've been doing some Christmas comparison shopping at the "usual suspects"/gine pen online retailers.

I figured that since my husband just dropped several hundred bucks on electronic components (a lot of "raspberry pi" stuff and beyond that I have no clue), and wants a sous vide system (which, since I don't know enough about the system he's gonna have to buy himself as a Christmas present) I should be allowed to get a pen.

Problem is that my tastes have become a lot more discriminating and discerning (read, "champagne taste but beer budget").  So the days of being satisfied with $10 pens is largely over for me.  I still have to run through currently listings on the Bay o' Evil, and I also may hit some antique stores tomorrow before the new wave of lockdowns go into place -- a couple of places have Christmas sales on, and they're the two places where I picked up the budget-level Snorkel and a Maroon/dusty Rose Duovac last summer in their joint "Christmas in July" sales.  There may be nothing.  But there may something that needs a new home (one never knows with places like that, as merchandise cycles through.

I still prefer “champagne taste but beer budget” over “beer taste but champagne budget”. 1. You have better taste; 2. You can better keep the waistline in check.😀

I missed this pen the first time around (2013), so when I heard that there were places selling a reissue of the Sailor Pro Gear "Black Velvet" (Cocktail series) pen, I didn't hesitate. Wasn't planning on it but didn't hesitate.

I, too, took advantage of the Endless Pens Black Friday deal for the Lamy Dialog 3. Not quite an impulse buy, as I had been hemming and hawing about getting one. The price point was too good to resist though.

Wow, that is a really attractive pen.  I hadn't really paid a lot of attention to the Cocktail series pens (although I'm sure that was partly my wallet talking...).
