Lamy Dialog 3 Piano Black. I hadn't bought a pen in ages and had no interest in buying one. Then I saw it on sale and the rest is history.

Impulsive? Is there any other kind? I don't need any other pens, but that doesn't stop me from buying them.

Good point!

A Pilot 78g in medium nib. It's classic black/gold and I'm loving it. Amazing that a pen this cheap can offer this much writing enjoyment.

Two weeks ago a NOS Parker Frontier and two days ago a NOS Rotring Esprit. Both in little bookstores. :)

This weekend at a series of antique stores: gave myself permission to have one impulse buy and only cae home with two. A gray Este and a Wearever Zenith are now awaiting new sacs. Not bad all in all. But I still keep thinking about that glass nib crescent filler that I walked away from...

I agree with Ron, they are all impulsive at least to a point. If I mull over the decision too long I usually pass on the pen; I truly do not "need" another pen. That said, my last (impulsive) purchase was the Pentrace 2016 Numbered Edition.

A red M800 with a vintage EF nib from Stilo Fetti in Rome. Bad timing, since I had to reveal to my partner that I'm the kind of person who will spend 440 Euro on a pen without batting an eyelash.

Not super impulsive, though, since I've known that the model is discontinued for awhile now, and I did go to the store expressly to check for older models. I also put off actually buying the pen until the last moment, Saturday evening, and luckily called the store ahead of time because they were about to close early. Also not impulsive, because I looked at the nib with my magnifier (which I "happened" to have in my backpack) to make sure it had the right custom mark and hallmark.

But, again, bad timing because now I can't claim moral superiority in our relationship, and am outed as a compulsive pen freak. Oh well ...

A Waterman Carene fountain pen in black gloss. I saw it cheap on Amazon UK and couldn't resist. It arrived today and it's a gorgeous gloss black. I'm very pleased.

Parker 51 demi in navy grey. It was going for really cheap on ebay. It turned out to have a bent nib. That'll save me money by keeping me off ebay for a while.

Soo unusual for me but in for a penny . . . I've now just gone and bought a Graf von . . .

Wow! Luscious!

I "just" bought the GVFC Platino Intuition Ebony with a BB nib, and a couple of Looms, so last week I really shouldn't have yielded to the impulse to buy the CdA Metwood Roller to match impulse buy of the rosewood FP a few years age

Not to mention the next pen the next day....

I think as another poster said, most are impulsive. I cautiously "did my homework/checked the bank balance" for the first probably 5 pens, initially going to be "just the one" but soon led to the "first 5."

I truly could have completed coursework for a doctoral degree with the same effort I expanded to determine "these were the BEST 5 pens," I SHOULD buy. I had them, including the Pelikan M800 brown tortoise, despite it being "sold out;" I remembered Stephen Brown saying in his review that, "Peter Twydle called it ,THE pen," so I thought that was a nice recommendation for that choice.

Yet, after those first 5 pens, which had been "carefully considered & purchased," it was "DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE!" I had "chosen my ONE Pelikan, couldn't imagine WHY anyone would want the WHITE one, especially since the M600 IS smaller; UNTIL I DID!" Same story after the first Parker 45, 51, 61 & THEN came Omas........after 5 of them, there seemed to be "other" pens that just "popped UP & consequently popped IN."

I have to blame something for such erratic, foolish actions, so it might aas well be blamed on "impulsive" behavior.

.............AND then there was INK!

I have received 6 bottles this week & managed to have similar amount to be forthcoming. It is a pleasure & I remain grateful to the persons who have shared there knowledge here to make it possible.

I guess the TWSBI Diamond 580 AL in Lava would count as my last impulsive purchase. Stub nib, beautiful, and I haven't regretted a moment that I've had/used it :-).

The other day, I bought a Schneider nameless for 15 zł (or, at today's exchange rate, just less than US$4).

I wanted it for an ink color I won't use often but want in the mix.

*Sigh*

After watching Matt Armstrong's video on the DC show I bought one of the heavily discounted Sheaffer Legacy pens at Vanness online store. A combination of the huge discount, that nice looking nib and "only 1 pen available" flag made me hit the cart button. Officially, I am on a pen purchase hiatues for at least 8 months. :x Still happy with the purchase though :x.

Oh, and a TWSBI ECO stub. :)

At that price it's well worth it. If it weren't of the Canadian dollar, I would have snatched one pretty fast too, the bronze one especially.

As for myself, I ordered a Ranga model 3 with the JOWO nib in the upgraded orange ebonite. I've wanted an ebonite eyedropper for a while and the Jowo nib unit compatibility is a big plus if I want something special like one of the Masuyama CI from FC.

Yeah! I'm quite excited about it, but I ordered the black one.
