Cross Classic Century Brushed Black PVD, medium nib. My father uses a gold "Original" Century and, like a envious child, I wanted mine. :)

There's something I like in this pen.

A Pelikan 101N Tortoise from 1938/1939 with a golden B nib. Told the vendor "yes" a minute ago after having written its first two page letter (with Pelikan Brilliant Brown of course).

Ooooh, that sounds like a lovely pen! Enjoy! Though I am a big Pelikan fan, I havent found a vintage one yet that has really inspired me. Perhaps one day I will be lucky enough to come across something like the one you now have...I imagine the Brilliant Brown looks very good coming out of that pen.

Oh, it does, definitely!

I always liked the vintage 400 series, the 100s never were my type of pen. And they still are not, I don´t like their rear end looking like somone cut it off. Except that I discovered at some point that the 100Ns have the well rounded rear end I like. When this beautiful 101N Tortoise came my way, I just was like "Oh my... Hello little beauty! Did you know I might need another pen after all?"

There we go.

A pre-owned modern Wahl Eversharp Decoband in Rosewood finish. It writes wonderfully, but it is very big. I read enough about it to know this, but I had to find out for myself. And I acted on impulse...

I don't think I backed this on wrong timing, as it's been my goal to back a pen made from someone in my state, and I couldn't resist the Nordic Snow finish!

Aurora Duo Cart, light blue - sale today at Atlas Stationers put this pen almost 25% lower than the usual price everywhere. I have been wanting one for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger.

The "impulse" aspect is that I had already ordered a pricey P51 earlier today, so I wasn't expecting to buy another pen same day. But I am really looking forward to it.

I really wanted to get one of these for my daughter but it would be $180 CAD and she's till too young to spend that kind of money on a pen for her. She's barely 5. Love to use her fountain pens, but sometimes she'll ask me where her pens are and I've got to rummage through her toy boxes, her art caddies, under the furniture etc to find the pen she's looking for.

When she's older if these guys are up and running I'll get the purple one for her.

I got a $5 amazon gift card from T-Mobile Tuesdays. I had $9.75 in rewards/return money, so I looked at pens and ink. I was going to get a clear TWSBI Eco, but I have 5 Eco pens. Searched for Kaweco stonewashed blue, and found one for $62. My rewards and gift card reduced the price to $47.75.

The pen has a fine nib, so I searched for the cost of Kaweco 1.1 nib units. I finally touched complete purchase.

I hope I like the pen as much as I’ve thought I would. I certainly did not start the day thinking I’d buy a pen, let alone the Kaweco Stonewashed which are usually $80-$90.

An 8-pack of Pilot Petit1 fountain pens in different colours, that I just "had to" buy to pad my Amazon order for a 3-pack of Pilot CON-50 converters in order to (barely) qualify for free international shipping.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Ooh, this brings back memories(and is a bit ironic, given our discussion of the converters)! I bought an 8-pack of the Petits, along with a pack of refills (three for each of the eight colors), on impulse a number of years ago when I discovered some of the colors were going to be phased out. I'm quite fond of the Petits.

My wife hasnt forgiven me yet for the blue TWSBI 580 i bought 4 years back. Well, i at least understand her. Who will expect someone gone for grocery shopping coming back home with a TWSBI. ?

That's better than my husband, who came how with a TV we didn't need....

I stopped writing with FPs for years, but last week I happened to see the violet Lamy Safari and had to have one. Also got a Hongdian at the same time. Man I'm glad I kept all my ink when I sold off most of my collection...!

I have just realized that I needed a Delike Elements brass pen to play around swapping the nib in, with a nib I bought on impulse a week ago to discover it did not fit the pen I thought it would...
