What Was Your Last Impulsive Pen Acquisition?

I'd been eyeing the Sailor Profit Jr in Cyan for some time, decided to go for it before tariffs get nuts. Very nice cheerful colour, very hard to capture, phones and cameras want to oversaturate and veer towards green.

The shape and clip make it easily recognisable as a Sailor without even looking at the markings on the ring, the mark of good design, it has the same dimensions as any other 1911; a simple steel MF nib does the job very well, even writing upside down, already a pleasure to write with; as with most Sailors I've tried, it produces a light ink hue, currently trying with Diamine Gingerbread; and the typical Sailor pencil like feeling. The plastic fels a bit cheaper but does the job, it has a grey section, there are less rings than on more expensive models. A bit of a no brainer at $22, it's more than twice that on the other side of the Atlantic; didn't come with a converter.

The pen's colour is a good match for Graf von Faber Castell Gulf Blue, but probably wouldn't be very legible.

Which colour? Curious because I was chasing one in particular when the transaction went bad and the system had to step in and rule in my favour.

Will work for pens...

I think it's meant to be the “autumn” acrylic with orange, yellow and green, although in that product photo orange dominates the finials entirely (which, if push comes to shove, I'd be completely OK with).

Parker Snake Pens edition are attractive pens with weight and cartridge/converter. The only criticism that I have is the closing method that is similar to the original one and it is not a very secure one, the pen can easily uncap when you transport it unless you push it hard and can risk a crack.

My pen arrived today, and I agree with this assessment. Fortunately, the cap ring is solid metal that encloses the cap lip all the way around, so I am hoping the chances of a crack are minimal. But I am not sanguine about the pen's ability to keep the nib from drying out. Time will tell.

I am currently soaking the section, nib and feed. Once that is complete, I will attempt a photo or two.

Photos, as promised. With plenty of light, they weren't that hard to get.

The pen is a little short for me unposted, and posted it is too long and back-heavy. I guess I'll have to try it both ways and see which way is easier for me to adapt to.

That’s a really nice looking pen. Good call!

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

My latest impulse was an Eversharp Symphony in blue with a gold cap. It has one of the heart shaped breather hole nibs that I like on these, internals are unknown. I may have to try my hand at sac replacement again (it’s been a long time since I’ve done it myself). I don’t know what generation of cap it is, once it gets here it will be easier to tell.

An all-black Lamy Studio to serve as a dedicated pen for black document ink. To be used while wearing a black turtleneck.

Same! My favorite quote is “ This is the time on Sprockets when we dance.” It invariably leads to flailing limbs and striking poses.

Haven't watched SNL since I was a freshman in college.  Got out of the habit because this was back before everyone had DVD players and such, and I was generally OUT on Saturday nights -- campus mixers or movies being shown on campus, or hanging out at the campus coffee house listening to live music.
