Diamine sunset orange which is fairly close to the pens body to my eyes (but not quite a perfect match).

Wow, that's a bright color....  Any chance of a writing sample along with more pics of the pen and the nib? 😀👍

Did I ask what paper you were using?

Misfit-

Yes on the nib sizes, though the mystery of this auction purchase is that I have no idea what nibs any of the 18 have.  The problem, at least for me, with buying the Bungubox pen has been that it comes with a glass wand.  The going price is about $200 USD.  This is without the wand.

Interesting about the glass wand. I guess it ties in with witch, so why not. Any idea when all those lovely Kaweco pens will arrive?

I will consolidate the Kaweco pens with a few other orders, so they will probably arrive in a month.

A green Pelikan 400NN with KF nib. I have a couple of tortoiseshell 400NNs and had been meaning to add one in green at some point, and now I have one on the way courtesy of an ebay offer and my poor impulse control.

Today I bought my first pen of the year, and my only one for this month (as I have vowed to limit myself to one per month). Parker Duofold Mandarin Yellow Senior (I guess, 5.25"), apparently streamlined, with what looks like a Fine nib and two smaller cap bands. My guess as to date is 1929-1933.

Not really impulsive per se, I had been looking for something to sort of compare and contrast with the Centennial Mandarin LE I bought last month.

S.T. Dupont Olympio Medium, in Chinese lacquer finish.

Olympio is my favorite series of pens from S.T. Dupont.

I'm partial to the Fidelio series, very similar shape, maybe a little smaller? They have black plastic instead of metal sections. I really like the esthetic, the shape, the snap caps, and the way the nibs write. They feel like quality.

Fidelio is a bit shorter, mainly due to the shorter cap and shorter nib.

The Olimpio series also had plastic sections in the early versions, I have a few with plastic. For me, the plastic sections are more comfortable, but the metal ones are prettier :)

Hmm... do you perchance own a Caran d'Ache Léman as well? I think those look very similar.

I'm contemplating of getting one, but @ 740€ MSRP, it's quite the proposition without having heard an informed opinion.

Nevermind, I just found a silver plated Olympio with a plastic section @ 580€ :3

ST Dupont Olympio Medium size is my most balanced and comfortable pen i own. Simply a perfect fountain pen. I have both metal and plastic nib section. They are equally good.

It beats my MB149, MB JP Morgan, MB Homer, MB Twain and a bunch of other ones that I don't feel like mentioning...

I have a Caran d’Ache Leman. A good, though too expensive pen. In my opinion, the Olympio from Dupont is better, the Caran d’Ache's whole impression is spoiled by the usual nib number 5 from Bock, the Dupont nibs are much more beautiful (though also made by Bock). I also really like the soft cap latch of Dupont.

If I had to choose, I would prefer Dupont, especially considering its lower cost.

I almost agree with you :)

I am a big fan of Montblanc pens, but if I choose not from Montblanc, then I have 2 favorite pens: Dunhill Sidecar and S. T. Dupont Olympio. And Olympio is specifically Medium - I have several Olympio XL, but I like Medium more.

In the last few days:

A Platinum Platinum - solid silver cap & barrel (not sure the silver content - it is stamped "SILVER" only) with platinum alloy nib, which is quite stiff. Chonky pen with a chonky grip, shown here next to a sterling cisele Parker 75 for size comparison.

Platinum with etched pheasants & bamboo into steel. You can see one of the pheasants at the bottom of the clip. This pen came along with the Platinum Platinum and was the most eagerly anticipated of all the pens in this post.

A celluloid lever-filler with barrel stamped "DURBAN" - I've never heard of Durban and I couldn't find anything about it. But I bought it because it has an old, fairly flexy Mabie Todd Blackbird nib, which must have been switched into it - with a little bit of pressure it will flex significantly more than the text shown below but I need to work on the flow. I bought it online and, from the photos, I thought it was a more normal sized pen - it is teeny! I know the seller and I'm sure he wasn't trying to misrepresent the pen ... it's my fault for not asking more questions. I like it, regardless. It is next to a regular ol' vintage Pilot Elite pocket pen, for comparison.

And these will probably show up tomorrow - sold to me by the same pen friend as the above two vintage Platinums. All Platinum 3776 Century limited editions, from left to right:

  • Fuji Five Lakes series "Shoji" (2012)
  • EDIT: I couldn't identify it. Please let me know if you know it! Fuji Five Lakes series "Kawaguchi" (2016)
  • Fuji Shunkei series "Shungyo" (2017)
  • Fuji Five Lakes series "Yamanaka" (2015)

I believe they are all rhodium trim - lighting must have made them look gold. Thanks to the Platinum #3776 Century Collectors site - it's nice reference for identification and other information!

As usual, I wasn't looking for any of these pens. Except for the Platinum Platinum, I didn't know of the existence of any of these models.  Interesting (to me) pens + low prices = impulsive purchases.

Something like an Esterbrook 1xxx series nib?  I have a few of the 1555 Gregg nibs and they are actually really nice writers for being folded over tines with no tipping.

I bought a Waterman’s 52 1/2 V BCHR pen with a fun flexible nib, and a Leslie and Harvey Co. “Bon-Ton” pen with a warranted #2 nib that looks like a very old replacement nib, and a detachable metal clip.
