This Parker Sonnet Atlas, with Sterling cap, and blue barrel with a map of the world in brass, and a fine nib .  The attached YT link shows it better than I ever could.

Interesting....

The barrel design is reminding me of the Parker Vector "Timecheck" design, which was made by IIRC Luxor under contract to Parker, but *only* released in the Asian market.  I've seen a few on eBay, but the one time I tried to get one -- AND from the ONLY seller who (1) had 100% positive feedback; and (2) was the ONLY seller in the US at that?  The seller accepted my offer and then reneged 2 days later.  I found out about it when I got the email from PayPal about the cancelled transaction BEFORE I heard from the seller OR eBay (who told me that I "couldn't" provide feedback on a transaction that had been cancelled!).  My response to eBay?  "I didn't cancel the transaction -- the SELLER did...."  And also basically then told THEM, "HOLD MY BEER!"  Because I have NO idea whether the seller got a "better" offer (after of course accepting MINE) or didn't actually have the pen at ALL....

Betting this pen costs WAY more than a Vector does.... :(

I will wager that you mean "travel" diary, correct?

The solar system theme on this Parker IM Pursuit was too clever to pass up, including details like Earth's moon, Jupiter's Red Spot, and Saturn's rings. But they did cave to Big Astronomy and left out Pluto.

Yeah, I was sad when Neil deGrasse Tyson declared it "just a planetoid" -- especially since I then found out he's a pen guy....

I will wager you meant "Wagner", correct? 😊

Nope, the word was intended to be "wager", as in bet.

That was a joke. I thought we were playing off the use of the name "Ravel", as in the French composer...

I just ordered three old lever filler pens off eBay. I thought about it for only like two minutes- so it certainly was impulsive. I want to try my hand at pen restoration. I’ve tinkered around a bit with one old pen I had and so I bought these pens with the hope of restoring them. Needless to say this one purchase has resulted in a bunch of extra purchases of tools and materials. And I wonder why my Christmas cash never lasts long….

Well, I guess I missed that one :-(. I actually thought it might be a real word and looked it up. All I got was, you guessed it, "Ravel, Maurice".

Thanks for following up.

Darn it! I’m a sucker for Space themed pens (and other items). Now I have to look up this pen.

And now I have impulsively bought it too. Used rewards money of almost $14 to reduce the price.

If it helps, he didn’t decide this alone. But I suspect you know this, and are disappointed he agreed with the decision.

No worries—it's all good. Happy holidays! My career was in classical music, so the "ravel" thing popped out at me immediately, though it's not necessarily a "household name."
