Thank you very much for your words. I’ve only spent one Thanksgiving meal alone. But that was just the meal. I’ve never been alone for Thanksgiving and Christmas, as will be happening.

I don’t know where I’m at in grieving. I miss them, and want them back, but back as they were in 2014 at the earliest. But that won’t happen, because this is the normal progression in human life.

Be well, Misfit.

I saw several items that looked good, but it looks like they charge $29.00 for shipping to the U.S. (orders less than 250 Euros - not $$) and there is an added charge (fee) if I want to use PayPal. So I end up paying about $45.00 on top of the cost of the pens. It's cheaper than picking them up in person BUT a bit too much for S&H - imho.

Thanks for the pointers to specific pens... enjoy them both, they look really nice.

Ah, I see. I had qualified for free shipping and seeing the Paypal fee, I had opted for a bank transfer. As I have dealt with Appelboom before, I didn't see a problem there.

However, unfortunately I was just informed that the Tibaldi is already out of stock and if they can send me something else. So now I am enquiring about two Tibaldi Bononia pens, the grey Pearl Mist and the red Seashell Mist. If one of those is still available, I might go for one of those. Opting for a bank transfer was a good choice in this case, because I scheduled it for tomorrow and now I can still change it.

Udate:

It's going to be the Seashell Mist.

I guess this was impulsive, kinda  sorta. Picked up another Newton.  A Majestic in a very unique material. I don't recall what he called it offhand. Part of my Christmas from my wife.

I was offered an English teal Parker 45 Deluxe for an excellent price. It’s like a nice Arrow, gold trim, 14k medium nib, but all plastic. It’s not a line that I am familiar with.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Sailor 🐧 Mini Pro Gear Slim M, Van Dieman’s Neptune’s Necklace

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Pelikan M605 F, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

Sheaffer Icon (F) is on its way along with the Michael Sull book on penmanship.

Different vendors and, so far. my only Black Friday - Cyber Monday purchases.

We have a Boston Pen People pen club meeting coming up on Sunday, December 15th and there will probably be an opportunity to buy and sell some pens at that time.

I'm bringing (to sell) a vintage (restored) 18k Europa Safety pen with a flexy nib and a vintage (restored) Chilton.

Found both of these at a flea market during the summer.

@jchch1950 -- Capillary filler 61?  They take a lot of flushing out, but the first one I bought I just kept getting the ink in it reconstituted and wrote with that pen for several MONTHS until the ink got so diluted it was illegible on the page, then flushed it out really well.

Hopefully yours won't have any cracks.  I have ONE plastic body 61 that hasn't developed cracks in it, but all the other ones have. :(  The only other one that HASN'T gotten cracks is, of course, the metal bodied 61 Flighter.

My last impulsive pen acquistion?

The Platinum Procyon in Carmine Red (Lustre finish).

It was ON SALE! And just in time for Christmas, too.

I got it in Extra Fine because, boy howdy, it makes the base of my fingers SING FOR JOY when writing with it.

When the hand speaks, it pays to listen.

NOW ... If *Platinum* is listening, pretty please, might we get a rich emerald green and a sapphire blue version of this model of pen, too?  I would love to have an RGB set of three for editing mark-ups, diagrams, and sketching. Please and thank you.

I purchased USPS Priority Mail delivery. I guess we'll see if it was worth the extra 10 bucks.

EDIT TO ADD: I bought it on jetpens, as indicated by the watermark on the picture.

It will be very useful to read your comments about the Icon.

I just fired up the credit card for an OMAS Studio - such are the dangers of idle browsing on ebay. It's going to be my Christmas present to myself.

I received a surprse gift voucher for a pen store. It's for Christmas and received early so I could order and have it by Christmas. Opted for express post to improve my chances if that.

So... a Lamy Studio Rose with an extra fine nib and a converter (in case it's not included). I still had enough for two Robert Oster inks - and went with Bronze and Australis Rose.

Will work for pens...

Thank you for your comments. I also hope that are no cracks on the Parker 61. The time to delivery is still long because of the holiday season.

A Wearever Deluxe. The pics were very dark but I noticed it had a Watermans Ideal nib. I've lighten the pics to be closer to how it actually looks and was surprised at just how pretty it is. £15.25 well spent me thinks.Wearever2.jpg.542992206796257d25bf663b348cb5b9.jpgWearever.jpg.db95768609e69732fb191825e8b8131a.jpg

I've also just bought a red marbled Merlin 33 for £15.05. It was the 5p that made the difference. Looking forward to that.

I'm not sure if I did this one or not, a 1927 Parker Duofold, Wet Noodle.

I had won this box of pens as a live auction lot…..but is not my last impulsive pen buy.image.jpeg.567c4f66dd7f42c8468e5fbd8af72f83.jpeg

I didn’t make a telephone bid or post an advanced bid on the….1927 Parker Doufold, Wet Noodle, like I had on the set of pens.

This was the impulse, with a start bid of €150...my limit for a single pen, I expected it to go much higher. It didn’t get a bid. So I called up on Sunday leaving a message. I wanted it. I got it, on Tuesday when I picked up the other set.image.jpeg.b2fa1c086e60dafbae613245e75e5e93.jpeg

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Do parts count? There’s a sale on 14k tubular nibs for the Wing Sung 601/618 so I bought one in EF. I have a cobalt 618 with a steel F nib and I like when the nib matches the trim.
