Prices have gone through the roof since the annoiuncement they'd be discontinued. While I did see one for $595, most seem to start at $699 and go up to over $1000. I was really surprised to see the $270 price (and make offer option, even); when I realized it was new, I couldn't not go for it. Hopefully, it's legit.

Congrats on your new M300.

But, wow! For those prices I gonna have to retract a M300 set (FP & BP) I gave my wife about 1.5 years ago 😂.

Found them NOS on the evil bay for $135 after shipping and taxes. It took me about an attosecond to decide to buy them 😊.

That long to decide? 🙂

Why so long?

Yes, I would probably respond similarly.

Well I hope she fully appreciates your thoughts, intentions and actions.

ENJOY!

As for taking so long to decide... well, you see, I've always been a slow "kid"... 😊

She does enjoy the "toothpick", which is how my son refers to the M300. She already had the pearl one, and the BP never leaves her desk (although that is something I don't understand, since I see no use for a BP 🤷‍♂️).

I once used one to hold the inner sleeve in place while re-installing the D ring on a DuPont Montparnasse. So, they do have their place 😉

I had the decency to wait until my wife woke up before I pressed "buy."  (She asked me why I waited that long.)  Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0, SBRE Brown Limited Edition #21/50.

Oh! That's what they are for! I knew there should be some use for them... 😂

Wow! That's a beautiful pen.

Reminds me of some vintage Conklins.

Congrats.

Very nice. Have eyeballed some Leonardos recently but not yet pulled the trigger. Let us know how you like it.

And then there were... 6 Gehas. Here the just arrived gray Scholier next to a Bordeaux (700) and a striped green 760. Same size, differences from the perspective.

Seems in good nick, it's got a few blemishes from storage (section and a circle is darker), the piston seems to fill well, the 14k EF is particularly scratchy, I've been trying to align the tines for a couple of days; could probably use a deeper cleaning but the nib unit won't budge. Note the different clip.

Handsome pens, and I was going to mention that last clip. A very elegant, albeit small, refinement.

That "M" nib writes on the fine side, does it not. Lovely pen.

The Parker 51 I posted about earlier arrived, and I got lucky. It’s a 1948 aerometric, and as I started cleaning it out, I realized that the diaphragm was intact! Looked inside, did a pressure test with finger and by breathing, and the diaphragm held! Apparently someone had restored it recently. And it writes beautifully too. Quite happy with Myrtie Hugunin’s pen.

A HongDian 1866 fitted with no.35 soft EF nib, along with these standalone no.35 nib units: soft F, soft M, regular EF, F, and M nibs, all in plain polished steel.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

From the HongDian official store (弘典办公旗舰店) on Taobao. I can give you a link to the listing, but it's useless you are logged in already (predicated on your having a Taobao account) in your browser; you can't even see the options covering the different nib sizes, types, and width grades otherwise.

Agreed. it's almost a 'Japanese' medium, I don't have a Pelikan inked at the moment but I suspect a Leonardo "M" may be finer than a Pelikan M605 "F." The difference between Leonardo "M" & "F" seems a lot smaller than, say, the Lamy equivalents.  Nevertheless as I prefer finer nibs I'm more than happy with the width. What surprises me is how little difference there is between the writing experience of a Leonardo gold nib compared to their (excellent) steel nibs.  They feel so similar that choice of a Leonardo gold nib over a steel one is mainly aesthetic.

Just took delivery of a Rosetta Coronado in mosaic - NOS apparently.  Medium Schmidt nib writes very nicely out of the box.

I can find next to nothing about the company - and very little about other models (Magellan, Napoleon) Any sources of the company's backstory?

Our search engines are quite fantastic:

One reports that Rosetta B Coronado, 52, Manor, TX has court or arrest records.

But another engine delivers somewhat better info:

Utmarkt!

Thanks very much for digging that out.  I do hope the lady from Texas has reflected on her past behaviour and turned over a new (FP friendly) leaf..

Very interesting, thanks for the share.

Not only do these seem to be quality pocket notebooks, but this is one terrific review.

And I learned something about a pen/stationery company that I had never heard of.
