What Was Your Last Impulsive Pen Acquisition?

Hmm, a demonstrator is good for shimmer inks since you can see the feed while cleaning. Mine got Colorverse Show-Me Missouri because the pen and ink were new.  I’m not sure what ink will go in next. Would a gold ink look good coming out of that pen?

A relatively inexpensive fountain pen from S.T.  Dupont —  D Initial.

The appearance and workmanship are good, but I don't like the silver nib on the gold plated background.

@Penguincollector I think you’ll like the Indigo and Bronze TWSBI. I have one, and think it’s an attractive combination of colors. We will be Pen Twins because I got the stub nib also.

I purchased one a while ago, 1.1 also, but have not inked it yet.

Does that make us triplets?

I bought a pretty blue Parker Parkette, lovingly restored at a very good price at my pen club meeting.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Pelikan M300 CIF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Sheaffer 3-25 EF ringtop, Skrip Black

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

I think so, Robert Oster makes a darker gold ink that would look good- I can’t recall the name just now- Antiqua maybe?

I will. The pen still has ink in it, so it might be awhile. I wonder if the Gold Antiqua ink will look gold in the pen, like looking gold.

Two Admok M800 piston-fillers, one fitted with a Bock EF nib, and the other with a Schmidt F nib (as EF nib wasn't an available option). Sigh, I just couldn't help myself… a little bit of curiosity, but a whole lot of “I just have to have it” in my pen library.

I haven't tried ordering items on Taobao with ‘official’ air mail as the delivery method before; so let's see how quickly or slowly the pens arrive. (Last time, I elected to use the ‘official’ sea/surface mail as the delivery method because the parcel contents were heavy and thus the cost was much cheaper that way. It took months to arrive. This time, the difference in costs between air mail and surface mail is about $2.)

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Congratulations @amk any chance of a photo to show the icy Pelikan and pink Kaweco?

Of course! I just had to bring my camera back in from my workshop...

Even then, I couldn't quite capture the iciness of the blue. But what a pairing! I have FPUK Teal in the Pelikan, and Kaweco Ruby Red in the Kaweco.

Too many pens, too little time!

How is the writing experience?

Like all other S.T. Dupont nibs which I tried: stiff, smooth, wet (not to much).

I finally ordered a Twsbi. It’s the indigo and bronze 1.1 stub. I needed some White Lightning, and the Brown Penguin ink from Octopus Fluids, and shipping is outrageous, so I added a pen.

It’s not shipping, it’s a pen discount!  This is sound logic that I fully support and have used in the past.

This is excellent 😂. Keeping it in mind for the future!

Latest is a Sheaffer Imperial 440 with a broad oblique steel nib, with squeeze-fill convertor included. I'm looking forward to its arrival - I've always been impressed with the quality of Sheaffer's italic and oblique nibs and I don't expect this one to disappoint.
