I'm sorry - thank you for letting me know. I use a PC and it was six lines.

It was just a light-hearted poke. On some forums I'm on, they install a plug in so that sigs only show foe your first post on a page. Puts more focus on content and not the same stuff in every single post. No worries!

I'll try to find time in the coming days, and make certain to credit you!

Hey! Just this afternoon I landed another rather impulsive purchase, a little blue Moore. I saw it about a week ago, not a really high starting bid but sometimes the auctions for them go nuts. Before I ran errands today I put in a very low snipe on it and - booom! - it won! And the seller is really prompt and I've already gotten a confirmation that it shipped and might be here by he weekend. My initial hesitation is that I have this in a larger size, but since it came at a modest cost, it will be fun to have the little brother. Auction photo:

I THOUGHT that looked familiar. I have a Moore that looks almost like that, except for the color!

Here is the Levenger True Writer Classic Sapphire Mosaic in the foreground, and an older and (frankly) much more beautiful, substantial and valuable namesake, a Namiki Impressions Sapphire in back. The Levenger is still nice enough for the price and satisfies my whim for a blue/silvery/black marbled pen, at least for now. My photograph doesn't do justice to either pen.

Addendum, I sent the True Writer back to Levenger. After looking at it a bit more the resin did not entice me as much, and it was smaller and cheaper-feeling than I had hoped. I never inked it.

Hard cover, dotted, dark magenta Leuchtturm 1917 A5 and Paperage blank notebook, also A5, for $2.00 each at the local second hand store (that sell donated items to raise funds for the local food pantry).

Today I bought a somewhat sad-looking Marlen Odyseus (I guess that's the Italian spelling) in pearl white celluloid and silver furniture. All the silver is tarnished, and I'm trusting that it will clean up pretty good. The section appears to be carved in a way that I don't think I have seen before, and I'm not sure if it is metal or something else. There is a lot of carving in the other metal pieces, like Greek key designs and so on, all of which may (or may not) take some work to get back to or close to original condition. With all that silver trim, the two-tone gold nib looks a little out of place, but I can live with that. I like certain Marlen models for their design aesthetic; this one is edging towards too ornate, but the celluloid saves it and brings it all together.

I also took as careful a look as I could in the photos at the celluloid. I understand that light-colored celluloid tends to be more susceptible to breaking down than darker-colored celluloid (something about taking longer to cure, which the manufacturers often don't want to do?) so I looked carefully for any sign, and didn't see it. If there is any when the pen arrives, I will be expecting to return it.

I should have it in about a week.

My latest impulse is a grail. Just sprung for the Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age (EF). I saved some money after starting work full time and finally decided to do it. I closed the browser around 20 times before I could click order but I'm glad I did! I'm still waiting for it to come, but hopefully shipping doesn't take too long!

Christmas splurge...  I'm getting two Levenger True Writers, a Pinkly fountain pen with a medium nib and a Starry Night 0.7mm mechanical pencil. 🎄

Will work for pens...

@AmandaW Oh I hope you like the True Writers. I have one of their mechanical pencils. I got it when I finally found the Sea Glass fountain pen. They came as a pair. That was several years before Levenger reintroduced the Sea Glass pens.

Congratulations on getting the HS. I have the Bronze Age version with a stub nib. I hope you really like it when it arrives.

Ok, this totally defines impulse: I went to eBay to check on an auction that my snipe had been outbid on, and in the new pens for sale the following was at the top of the page, and I smacked the BIN! $20 for this colorful Arnold, or as Richard Binder calls them, “cheap but competent“ pen! The company started up in the mid-30s and this pen was probably in the first 10 years or so. I didn’t know that cranking out these bright clunkers made them the world’s largest pen maker for a brief time. Anyway, I like these vivid pens from days gone by.

Than you guys very much! Obtaining a grail is always a proud moment! I'm sure I'll love it based on what everybody on FPN has said about it! The hard part is waiting for it in the mail!

Not exactly an acquisition as yet, but I placed an impulsive order for a yet to be made custom limited edition.  Photos to follow upon arrival.

Hasn't arrived as yet.  Stuck in UA departure lounge.

This reminds me of the TV show The Good Wife where before a certain judge, the attorneys had to say “in my opinion” after anything they said or argued.
