I have got my recent pen, Waterman's N7 pen with a Keyhole _ Grey ( an oblique ridgid manifold) nib. Actually that nib I was mistaken for a Green nib as the listing details were  not clearly  comprehensive as the seller  did not have much knowledge about the pen. It was not even mentioned as the was either No7 or No 5. But recognised the pen and guessed it would be a No 5 but even I was wrong as it was a No7. Luckily for me the rigid nib writes well with as it is an Oblique pen.

This pen needs a fully restorations  including a new sac.

An Aurora Hastil lacquered in a tortoise shell pattern.

My understanding is these pens were lacquered by hand in Japan, but those might be only the first edition(s) of lacquered Hastil's, which seemingly had a Japanese inscription at the end of the barrel. I already have a more modern one without any Japanese characters inscribed, so I confess I do not know whether later ones were also hand lacquered in Japan.

Would love to see a picture (or two) of that pen, if possible.

Thank you...

As would I. I have a regular Hastil, but would love to see an amped up version.

I just picked up a LAMY AL-Star fitted with a Hanzi (aka ‘cursive’) nib, and a Kaweco Supra Fireblue, from (yet another of) Milligram's 15%-off sale. I was actually given an ‘early bird’ discount code to use yesterday before the sale started, but when I looked then, there was nothing of interest as expected. Tonight I went to the site again, actually to look at the details of an order from last year, and was surprised to see those two items added to the Outlet/Clearance section. Without thinking too much, I ordered them as the prices were low; I didn't know they were the only units available, and it seems that now they're both out of stock.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

A few pics of the Aurora Hastil I already have. The new one should be similar, only with its box and manual. This new one seems to have a rotating nib, which I will assess when I receive it and will look next into fixing.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

A very distinctive and different (from what I was expecting) appearance.

Aurora designs a very useful pen: the Hastil. The lacquer ones and particularly the tortoiseshell are worth patience until one comes to the second-hand market. Thank you for the photos.

went to a pen store on a whim (shouldn't have), saw a Diplomat Aero (shouldn't have), asked for a test drive (shouldn't have), very impressed by the nib but still in control of the senses, then I pushed the cap in (really shouldn't have). Plinnnnk, it said. Now I have a new Diplomat Aero (all black), and a (much) lighter wallet.

WOW, what a beautiful looking pen.

What is the gold filigree one next to it?

Any chance of a full picture (or two) of that one?

Thank you, gorgeous!

A Kaweco Sport V16 in brown with BBB nib is now heading my way. It'll take a little while to get here but I'm looking forward to trying it out.

An early (or late, depending on when it arrives) birthday present to myself: a Parker Vector with an interesting design I hadn't seen before:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/385946339678?nma=true&si=HTfaGgmI2hVzbLeCHQJrgCj8P5U%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Spotted it last night and decided I did in fact need another Parker Vector (and it's from a seller I've had good experiences with besides).  So waited till about 20 minutes to go, then bid the minimum.

The only downside is that I probably won't get the pen until the middle of October, so it will be a belated birthday present.

Of course, once I get it I'll have to see if I've got a spare converter or not....

And it was "Oops, I did it again...."

Today I went for a drive to an antiques mall a couple of hours northeast of me (mostly just to get out of the house after a fairly stressful couple of weeks) and ended up with what I think is a Sheaffer Touchdown (but don't know the specific model) with what looks like an italic 14K nib -- I pulled out my loupe just now, and the nib appears to have "33" below the Sheaffer imprint and above the "MADE IN USA".  The cap band seems unusual -- it seems to be fitted INTO the opening of the cap, in such a way that only a very fine amount of the band shows (I'd say maybe about a millimeter) and it seems to also stick out from the bottom of the cap in a curve on the outside (but seems to flat on the inside).  Too late in the day for me to try to get photos.

The woman working in the store noticed -- I hadn't -- that the tag said that it was supposed to be part of a set, but when I checked the case again I didn't see the matching pencil (but I don't mind).

Did I need another black pen?  No....  But that's what they had (well, they also had a couple of Esterbrook J series pens -- and I think an Estie Dollar pen, from the clip -- but none of the three had nibs I needed...).  And well, I mostly bought it for the nib....

Sounds like a Sheaffer's Craftsman.

My latest was a little more prosaic - a red Platignum Silverline oblique lettering set for a tenner. Looks like it's never been opened. It's becoming a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to grab any italic or oblique italic Platignum nib set I find.

Thanks for the information, ruby.monkey.

I didn't know if there was a chart/list for the different Touchdown models the way there is for all the Snorkel variants.  But that now gives me a starting point to try and get more info about the pen.
