TX is hard to even see in the area where I am.

As for the royal blue 45s, ask the seller or check with them as the lighting may be making the navy blue look brighter.

For confirmation of what color royal blue is.

Good idea to ask about the seemingly royal blue 45. It’s a bit pricey for a 45, so I haven’t made any inquiries, but if I decide to make an offer I will definitely ask for clarification on color. Royal blue is my favorite color, and one that I didn’t think was an option for 45s, but I know that there’s a few current makers that are getting really creative with Parkers. I look forward to checking out your pictures soon, and thanks for going in depth on Octanium nibs.

There were  4 TXs for sale when I was looking. 2 blue, 2 black. One blue was priced really high, the other was reasonable, and the 2 black were the least expensive at $50 each.

Went to a local store to try a Lamy 2000 to see if it was for me. It was! Bought it on the spot.

I didn't buy anything at the DC Supershow, other than a few pens to restore and sell...however, this was waiting for me when I got home.

The Fahrney’s catalog arrived today. I never planned on ordering a Cherry Blossom pen. Retro 51 makes them for Fahrney’s yearly. Yet this year’s pen caught my attention. I’ve wanted to try their ink too, so order placed.

My last impulsive purchase was at my local store recently.  There was a Lamy 2000 and a purple swirl acrylic pen.  The 2000 has been a wish pen for a long time, and I could not pass it up.

The purple pen turned out to be from a seller on Etsy (no shade), but I paid more to buy it used than I could have gotten one new.  Oh well, I still love it.

The 2K has an enormous firehose of a nib (it is way beyond B).  That led me to order another in EF....

I'm obviously not holding my end up. I believe I haven't purchased a pen since Christmas much less impulsively.

What to do? What to do?

I think I'm covering for at least 2-3 people.

I got a Sailor Pro Gear Slim (black/rhodium) with a F nib today. It’s a fantastic little pen and writes perfectly out of the box. I couldn’t be happier with it.

First off, WELCOME to FPN. It's a great place to learn, meet great people and have fun with our hobby.

As for your "Purple Pen Purchase", I think that is part of the unexpressed definition of impulsive. Sometimes we buy with our emotions rather than our logic.

Um,no.  I'm not a fan of Chinese pens.  Now, a vintage Wyvern or Onoto -- that would be tempting.
