The pen I ordered on Monday arrived today. It’s the Levenger True Writer in Turquoise.  Now which turquoise ink for it?  I have several inks in that color. Those include Diamine Turquoise, Visconti Turquoise, Waterman South Sea Blue, Pelikan Edelstein and I might be forgetting others.

Yup. That's it. Nice pen. You can see now how the color is a little deeper. Enjoy it. :)

A vintage Sheaffer No Nonsense (alledgedly 'nr mint' 🤣)  in blue with a Fine nib.... should be here tomorrow or Saturday.   I'll post a picture on the 'Blue Pen' thread when I receive it.

I had to go down to the basement to do laundry, and some of my inks are downstairs, so I ended up using Visconti Turquoise.

I'm sure the Visconti didn't disappoint!

I love the colour Turquoise....but I tend to prefer darker colours  of inks.

Not sure if this counts here, but I dropped more than I would've liked to on a pen case with a lock so nobody in my house would "borrow" my more expensive pieces.  Plus, it acts as a nice display piece.

Even not knowing the details, this makes me sad that some people are like this. You do what you have to do, I guess.

Thankfully nobody would do anything malicious, but I think I would have a heart attack if I went to use my 149 and it were missing or damaged.  I've never been good at sharing anything, but expensive pens isn't the place to start!

I got an amazing deal on a very limited production pen, which should arrive in a few days. I'm excited but I'll wait until I have it in hand and can post pics before saying what it is.

It has arrived. Leonardo Supernova Bohemian Twilight Limited Edition in Ruthenium trim. Really wanted the stub nib, but the seller didn't have one in stock, so I got the medium. It's stunning in real life...was concerned there wouldn't be enough blue in it and I'd want to return it, but the color distribution in this one is excellent and very much to my liking.

ETA: not sure why it flipped some of the pics upside down, but yeah. Also looks a little washed out from the direct sunlight, but was trying to capture how much it sparkles. You get the idea...

Stunning indeed!

On the photo rotating thing - @Mercian gave me a very good tip which cures this. If you 'edit' the photo in your phone/camera it normally prevents this happening when you upload. So, what I usually do (on my phone) is press 'edit' then I rotate the photo 90' and press  'Done' (or 'save') then I press ''edit' again and rotate the image to get it back to original and press 'Done' again. I have not had any rotated images since. Hope this makes sense?  Stunning pen, I'd love one of those.

  I've only just realized.....🤔  It would probably work if you just pressed 'edit' then rotated the image through 360' and pressed 'Done' 🙃  Doh.... 🤣

I went to my pen club meeting and came home with a cute lil’ post ‘54 Pelikan 140 with a steel nib. I’ve looked at several different sites but I haven’t seen a 140 with a steel nib, so I am curious about it. Please forgive the less than ideal lighting, it’s been hailing here.

Wow!  That’s the same kind of vacuum formed plastic tray they use to package lunchmeat.  Your refund was well deserved.

Did you have to send it back? My crafty brain started thinking about ways to line the black part and put it into a sturdy box. It might be a good base for a project if you still have it.

A few years back Speerbob was doing some reorganizing (I think he was moving) and offered about 100 of those thing for about 10/15 cents (?) apiece. I bought and resold them to some local pen club people. They had black marker writing on the edges but worked fine for everyone, including the ones I still have and use. They DO have their uses as well as their limitations.

I just ordered what I think is the ultimate pink fountain pen — a Platinum #3776 Celluloid ‘Sakura’ — which I had the opportunity some years ago to buy (new) for A$230 or thereabouts from Amazon AU but didn't, and now it's going to cost me rather more. 😕

I gave a soft pass on getting the Platinum #3776 Century ‘Shape of a Heart Ivoire’ for A$400, though. I'd love to have #3776 Century with a matt-finish body, but my reservations with that pen are (i) that the main selling point, being the attractive cap finial, is overshadowed by how gimmicky and ‘fashion-brand’ it also looks; and (ii) I don't post the pen cap when writing, so when the pen is in use I'm not actually going to see that feature.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
