Is that same the electric cobalt blue on my Aion?

1056336789_IMG_27121024.thumb.jpg.faa6e8fa44dafcdb8412a0c852279bd1.jpgthe electric cobalt blue on my Aion?

Dare I say that that blue is definitely 'electrifyingly' stunning?

Well, I would have hit the free shipping threshold even before my husband decided he wanted a pen too -- just between the al-Star, the converter for it, and the two  Parker converters.  The two ink samples were just gravy, even before the Safari and a second Lamy converter got added to the order.

Of course, I realized while going through their website that I could hit their free shipping threshold JUST with buying ink samples at some point....

Well, the order from them has FINALLY made it to the Pittsburgh area; the revised ETA is now Monday night (originally they were saying LAST night -- even when the email notification that came in at around noon today ARRIVED at the Pittsburgh Network Distribution Center (which is actually about a 20 minute drive north, depending on traffic, and just on the border with the next county...) :headsmack:

Mine came on Friday and I do like the color.  It's not my usual color choice as I usually like purples that lean blue rather than red.  This one's pretty.  Hope yours arrives soon!

Thanks!  Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be Monday (the revised ETA date).

Of course the ironic thing is that the regional sort facility is about 20 minutes from my house (in non-heavy traffic) and was in the same building as the place my husband used to work.  Once it gets to the main Pittsburgh Post Office, it should be a matter of hours to get onto a truck for delivery -- and that's less than 3-1/2 miles from my house.

No, a bit closer to royal blue than cobalt- but wow, that’s a gorgeous color, and now on my list.

IC looks very close though.  What ink are you going to use?

I won a last minute bid on a chrome Sheaffer Fashion II. My second of the bigger size and fifth of the TRZ/Fashion line.

You're getting so many pens this one got by me.  Chrome trim or gold trim?

@USG, they are close, but just different enough to warrant looking for one; I will probably try the included cartridge first, as I haven’t tried that color yet, and I want to make sure everything is ship shape. As for the chrome Fashion II, it’s all chrome, funny enough, the background it’s on in the seller pictures is the same shade as your Aion. I saw a Fashion II with the gold trim, but it wasn’t as good a bargain.

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

This may surprise some of you.  A pair of Retro51 rollerballs.  The bottom one is a faceted prototype.

The only rollerballs in my house for my personal use are Retro 51s.  I'm particularly fond of this one:

Which apparently I could sell at a profit.

Aerometric-fill Parker 51, because it had an interesting-looking nib - what turned out to be a rather crisp left-foot oblique italic.

Ooh, nice. Any idea whether it came that way or was re-ground at some point? I think I might like to do that to one of my P51's.

Honestly I don't know. It would have had to start life as a double- or triple-B nib, and while it's still fully tipped it is cut to a sharp oblique italic with the tipping almost flush to the gold.

Thanks, that would have been an unusual nib to start with, now virtually unique with that grind. Envy, envy. I shall have to make an impulsive pen purchase to assuage my envy. And I know just what it's going to be.

Just purchased a vanishing point with a broad nib - hopefully no buyers remorse :)

I've thought about this, and I can't reconcile myself to do the same until there is a better converter available that fits the VP.

My Kaweco Sport 'stonewashed' arrived from Cult Pens (on the other side of the Planet)! After writing with a Brass Sport for several years I love the feeling of the lighter aluminium material. I'm very fond of the faded jeans look. Impulse and nostagia😊

The Kaweco 'Original' is very similar in its appearance and is of the same anodised aluminium construction.

Easily my most enjoyable daily playmates!

The three Sheaffers arrived from a local trading site.

Lady Sheaffer 620 Ornate band brushed silver finish, Stylepoint steel nib.

Lady Sheaffer 904 Paisley, 14k Stylepoint nib.

Sheaffer Targa 1007 (Geo).

I am very pleased with where my impulses have led me.

This will be my pocket/traveling pen so I will be using cartridges in it. I ordered 2 packs ic100 black/blue.

Since I purchased my original VP in the late 90's (for $95.00, I think), Pilot has only produced (to the best of my knowledge) three converters that fit that pen -

Con 20 ( a squeezer), the Con 50 and, most recently, the Con 40.

If you are waiting for something, other than a cartridge, for a larger ink capacity, I suspect you will have a long wait...

Not really impulsive, but it's one of my grails-- a VP from a kind reddit seller on r/Pen_Swap.

And the three pens I ordered recently have all arrived!

The two Lamys (this year's Lilac al-Star with an M nib, and -- for my husband -- a regular Blue Safari with an EF nib), plus converters for both pens, arrived this afternoon (only about 3 days LATE with NO explanation by the USPS), along with a couple of ink samples and a couple of Parker Twist converters.

And then (as an added bonus ) the Parker Vector I got on eBay from a vendor in the Netherlands -- which was NOT expected to arrive for at least six WEEKS(!) -- ALSo arrived in the same mail!

So looks as if I'm going to be doing preliminary flushing tonight.  Oh, just realized I may have to run back out to the grocery store because I think I'm low on distilled water.... :headsmack:
