Warning. I had written a LONG version but my phone ate it.

I joined FPN about three years ago. I have come back and I mean business this.

My last order was about a week ago and it was for a Moonman M2. The last order that was delivered was 2 X Hero #66 NOS.

However, within the last 45 days, I have purchased about 15 pens that are keeping my Pilot Metropolitan BTW, when I found it after 3 YEARS it worked first try.

Most of the pens I have purchased are Jinhao with the exception of two Hero (and I know that they are related to Jinhao) NOS model #66.

Also, for some unknown reason I came to the concluded that I really NEEDED and Simply MUST HAVE at least one really, Really, REALLY one upscale pen to go with my upscale Wrist and Pocket Watches and custom made Walking canes. And the I decided that the brand WATERMAN.

So armed with a Credit Card I started haunting eBay for the pen of my dreams. I spotted a Mint Condition Waterman Expert 3 with the original box as well as all paperwork related to the pen. Them I activated a sniper program, gave it all the details of the auction.

And then made a nice smoked meat and cheese plate and then I took the snacks into my along with ba rather LARGE frosted mug of hard cider. Then I just waited for the auction to end along with

the other bidder's that were watching/bidding along with me. My programme entered my bid in a micro second and I WON the auction.

While I was snacking on Funky cheese and drinking my cider, another Waterman Pen caught my eye. Not enough time to get that info added to the Sniper Program so I watched the auction and at the last second I made my bid and much to my surprise I won that auction as well for a never used and mint condition Waterman Ideal pen

But enough for now and Blessed Be.... .

I just got a random set of two Wearever and a Parker aerometric, because I want to play with them. I didn't need them, I have plenty of similar pens to actually use, I just want to take them apart :)

Also, a NIB 'unspillable' Navy/Boat dip pen and base. I figure that'll be good once I get my paperwork desk cleared off and can use it for paperwork again.

Made a few impulse buys at the Dallas Pen Show. First, early Friday morning I saw that Crazy Alan must have had one of the last unsold Lamy 2000 Bauhauses (Bauhausen?) in existence. Wasted no time snapping that up. Then I found a mint-in-box Sheaffer Clipper set with stickers in Fiesta Red. Last, I got to see the Platinum Izumo Aurora and couldn't resist. It was an expensive weekend.

Hehe. It was sort of an expensive weekend for me, but not for buying things at the show. Putting six pens out for repair, that's going to hurt.

Just grabbed up four desk pens, three of which are fountain, one ball point. Plus some old cartridges.

Most of my pens have been impulse buys. Especially the ones from Ebay.

The most recent impulse buy, though, was the Vacumatic Junior Red Shadow Wave at DCSS in the PCAauction. It was the only pen I really wanted, but I wasn't going to even get a bidding number because I thought it would up too high for me. Then at the last minute I saw the Green Shadow Wave and though I'd take a stab at getting that one, figuring it wouldn't go for quite as high as the Red. Well, I was right in that.... But wrong in thinking the Red would be *completely* unaffordable. A bit more than I'd planned to spend on anything other than repairs this year, but, you know... Red Shadow Wave..... B)

It's sooooo easy to get distracted by "ooh, shiny"....

I am so glad that someone can relate to my distraction of shiny things. I am very glad that the Goulet's don't have a B&M store because my bf and I would've gotten into many fights by now...(Picture it: You spent how much??). I guess my most recent impulse by would have to be that purple limited edition TWSBI but I could'nt resist as purple is my favourite color, next to green.

Last "Normal" fountain pen acquisition: Pelikan M101N brown tortoiseshell in the beginning of August, but I'd been hunting for a good deal on one for a long time prior.

Last "Specialty" fountain pen acquisition: providentially found barrel of an ASA ebonite pen at the Commonwealth Pen Show in September to use with my custom screw-in JoWo-style nib unit from Flexible Nib Factory made for Zebra G nibs.

Haven't bought a regular fountain pen in a few months and feel very comfortable with what I have. Was sorely tempted to buy a special edition Sailor Pro Gear pen recently but talked myself out of it. Periodically considering a Pelikan M200 Gold Marbled with EF nib (or italic swap-in), though its section is probably too small for my liking.

Today. Bid on a Pelikan 400NN, description could have been better. Won the auction. I'll know how good the pen is once it arrives.

I just ordered a Pelikan M200 Gold Marbled, albeit with an F nib, because I didn't go with Cult Pens and most other retailers — including the one with whom I place the order — charges, or at least passes on to customers, the Pelikan "EF tax". That said, I have a M200 steel F nib on one of my pens, and it's proven to be one of my favourite nibs, so much that I didn't swap in the spare M200 steel EF nib I bought a while back. I guess I'll find out whether my favourite Pelikan nib is an anomaly among the brand's steel F nibs. (The M205 steel F nib I have here is OK, but nowhere near as fine or pleasing to use.)

impulsively bid on a pilot metal falcon SEF /w Con70 converter, got it for $95 shipped after tax. It was badly described so I think it snuck below everyone on ebay's radar.

fountain pen day got expensive.

esterbrook estie /w M nib (don't care about the included nib since I got it for the adapter to use my amazing vintage estie nibs in) as mentioned before, $120 total (levenger really screwed up their pricing for about 6 hours)

Aurora 997 optima flex in blue - I think the nib is an EF or F base. - absolutely stupid discount from endlesspens, 37% off the already discounted price, got for $233 after tax

Opus 88 picnic in brown with a B (only nib option available, pen was $50)

I picked up a green one of those (that I "missed out" on last time when Fontoplumo offered them at sale prices in September) with EF nib for €37.87. That was the only nib option, and luckily the one I wanted. I already got the blue one with F nib and purple one with EF nib in its last sale offer (and not as cheaply).

Platinum carbon desk pen. Was going online for party stickers for my kids, got smacked in the face by a 50% off sale, thought, why the heck not, and hence, another pen I don't *really* need but have always wanted to try is on its way. Such is life, eh?

I am glad this is titled "what is your LAST impulsive pen acquisition". I fear my hobby has many such examples.

I picked up a Coronet Pencil in an auction for the contents of a safety deposit box ($36), and had been looking for a mate to the pencil.

The pencil was purchased at a shamefully low price, due to it's condition and the rest of the items in the deposit box were essentially junk.

But a pencil begs for a Mate, and I finally found the matching fountain pen, in what would probably be described as "poor" condition.

For those of you who have tripped over my "plating 101" posting, you probably know where this is going. For those of you who have

seen my comments on removing dents from metal pens, you are almost certain where this is going.

This pen will be a deep restoral project. I found nicely restored sets, but the owners typically want about 975 to 2000 for a set, which

is too rich for my blood. And in my opinion, priced too high.

Pictures: The pencil that started this mess. The pen which is badly in need of restoral.

MB 149 75th Anniversary SE. Saw, thought, good price? Hit buy. Didn’t realize it was SE not LE. Oh well.

I can't stop buying pens and it scares me.

Sheaffer Targa, just arrived today.

I always wanted to get me some inlaid nib and when I saw a nice one on eBay...

The nib is very wet and I'm a bit concerned it might not work well with office printer paper - well, we'll see, I could look out for a replacement nib, right?

Replacement section maybe... those inlaid nibs are practically cast into the section. (I'm surprised they didn't heat the nib and melt it into the section).

White Kreuzer for a cheap price from the Netherlands; it's been a couple of weeks, still doesn't appear in the tracking system  .

Before that, Waterman Carène for €19... Thinking they would realize their mistake, cancel it, or send something else like a toothbrush in its place, or send a banged up pen... But it arrived, in perfect condition, in a bigger box with the converter and five cartridges... Aaaand the medium nib is actually a medium.

I just got mine and It's a damn good B nib... I may have to actually just leave it in there, but I suspect the pen is going to be my new airline travel pen, so I may just have a titanium or 14k nib made for it.

It's a really, really nice pen. I'm stoked on the brown color.
