Cure yourself of, what, freedom from FOMO? 🤔

I've unwisely decided to give Leonardo Officina Italiana yet another chance, although in all likelihood it's going to screw up and disappoint yet again in terms of supplying a fit-for-purpose writing instrument in whatever leaves the factory to go to the distributors (or, I suppose, straight to customers if the company also engages in direct retail). All because I want to be ‘nice’ about getting free international shipping on yet another order in accordance with the pre-programmed business rules, instead of ‘argue’ my case with the retailer (who would no doubt oblige) to tack ‘the main event’ — rats and mice stuff on clearance offer — onto some other qualifying previous order.

Had to Google FOMO. Nice one. 😊

Picked up a BNIB Namiki Vermillion Gold Rings No. 50 from Nurmister (just realised you are on this forum!). What a lovely and helpful fella. We transacted at a gas station at 2 in the morning; only in Singapore.

Rushing to my gate today at the Istanbul airport, I saw a Lamy store. I stopped and picked up a blue AL-Star, much to the annoyance of my wife.

I then arrived back in Edinburgh and ordered an Esterbrook Estie Honeycomb w/ Chrome trim and emailed the guys at Kilk Pens back in Turkey to let me know when their "Noon" model was available again. Oh, and a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Yu-Yake and Diamine Eau de Nil.

All in a day's work...

And just to counter your negativity I ordered a Leonardo direct from Leonardo.

And to prove you can get retailers to test/tune your nibs, the Visconti I just received was tested before shipment and works beautifully.  A new to me Desert Springs Divina non-LE.

It seems people are trying to make Omas style Arco again.  ASC had an Arco style blue white Mora Stylos pen.  Now Leonardo has some grey Arco style material.  So i ordered one.  Curious to see what it'll actually look like compared to the pictures.

These.  I wanted to try out a vac filler before investing in a good one, so I picked up two Wing Sungs in an EF and an F.  I'm a sucker for retractables, hence the ombré and the narrow blue pen.  The green thing was cheap and intriguing, but now that it has arrived feels cheap.large.IMG_1679.JPG.98afabaaecde6f29c55caa9c159002e8.JPGlarge.IMG_1680.JPG.1a51f5e7e64c7441bfe120c25ca974c1.JPG

So far I have inked the ombré and the Wing Sung. I like the ombré retractable but it is a bit narrow.  The Wing Sung Vac is fun but sadly, doesn't post, which is a deal-breaker for me.

And old friend and I were catching up in the grocery store parking lot and he mentioned that his wife had found some old fountain pens her mom and dad had and asked if I was interested.  I figured some Esterbrooks and Wearevers but thought what the heck. Went over and bought all of them from her.

2 Sheaffer Snorkels, a Waterman Inkview, Morrison Tourister and 2! Sheaffer Ballance Black and Blues, a couple of advertising pencils thrown for fun. Great haul and totally Impulsive!

The kicker for me is that none of these are insanely broad.

The Wing Sung 3013 (and, under different branding, Paili 013 or Pali 013) is compatible with a Pilot Plumix's (italic/‘calligraphy’) B nib, or Pilot 78G's B nib if you can find those. Not that I'd call either of those “insanely broad”; but at least one is not limited to using up the large ink capacity with an EF nib.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Please be aware, "Sanity" is overrated. I tried it a few times and it drove me crazy.

it's not a wet noodle, but the nibs are quite easy to flex with just a bit of pressure that you have to be conscious of using a light hand if you want to maintain a consistent fine line throughout.

The Wing Sungs don't post.   They. Don't. Post.  Ink capacity is wonderful, especially with an EF or F.  I can send you one if you want to swap out the nib for something BB. I smile thinking of you and all that ink! I accidentally ordered an extra.

The ombré pen is narrow in the hand, but maybe is available in a broader nib.  I like that one.
