A ferris wheel press brush. https://www.ferriswheelpress.ca/collections/pens-papers-essentials/products/the-brush-fountain-pen-spring-violette

I was eyeing their stroke of midnight ink released in late 2021 (but also wanted to try a range of FP inks). There was a deal with the purchase of their box of fascinations 2 (20x5ml inks) and the brush, and that was my Christmas present myself :)

I overpaid for a grey 400nn more than a month ago. Still waiting for it to clear customs in Chicago. I thought I had a 400 in grey but it turns out I already had it in the 400nn format.  Oh well. Sometimes I need a reminder I am a moron.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.  I succumbed to pen lust just a few moments ago, and now shamefully confess to purchasing one of these:

Scholar-Banner-1-scaled.jpg

It's Onoto's new line of Scholar pens.

I now await the arrival of one in black (the green was sold out already).

Lol I saw the pic and assumed you bought five.

Kaweco made one.  I have (had?) one that was really pretty handy.   I just need to find where I put it.

I think I have read somewhere that they aren´t produced anymore.

The important part about refillable with ink is, that there are no brown refills available and he wants a rollerball with brown ink. 🤷‍♀️

I did really well with the Faber Castell kids refillable rollerball.

Which model is that? And is it still available?

I drew something similar for a Pen Chalet sticker competition a while back (I didn't win!).  Here are my pen-boats:IMG_0302.thumb.jpeg.555e06dcb3c1460f0c692d896b98c6ac.jpegIMG_0300.thumb.jpeg.5b95b8b4d73bdf49b2c2114d52af64ee.jpeg

I love 'em.  I was copying @OCArt and creating an image to say, Welcome Aboard.

Oh, and I liked the Zebra 301.

You might also try this:

I didn't have much luck with the JHerbin. It was too small.  But then, I only used the $4.50 one.

I have not tried the Lamy Balloon, but I did hear good things about it.

I also tried the Monteverde Inkball. I wasn't a fan.

You might want to look at these too, but these are expensive.

Very nice pen, @Paul-in-SF. I'm looking forward to your further comments on it, after it arrives safe and sound.

Well, where to start. The pen body has a cracked area, not linear cracks but criss-cross like it was hit with the round end of a ball-peen hammer (although not very hard, it's holding together) -- this was shown in 2 photos and I just missed it. The clip is heavily corroded, which was not in the photos. I suspect it was nickel plated, and the metal I'm seeing under the corrosion is the brass that was under the plating. The blind cap was loose, which I did know about. The cap does not post when the blind cap is on, and the uncapped length is 118 mm, which is pretty short for me. These are the other problems that I haven't dealt with yet.

On the plus side: I got all the old sac out, which was stuck to the sides of the pen, by gently scraping with a dental tool. I got the button and pressure bar out, and the section unscrewed with only a little heat. When I got the section out and went to blow water through the nib and feed, it was actually already clean. Put a new sac in, and the filling system works. The steel nib is a Japanese Fine (or even EF) but it is pretty smooth and has a little flex, but not the kind that will show up in daily writing.

I'm not sure how airtight the cap is, time will tell if it can take days or weeks between uses and still write, or if there will be dry starts in my future.

My final observation is that I don't know how they got that pretty picture (and the others on the listing). For example, inside the cap, about halfway down, is a dark band that separates the inner cap from the threaded area, and I can't find any angle or lighting condition where that band doesn't show as a couple of very dark stripes behind the yellow stripes. In other words, it's not as pretty in person. Still, it is fairly unusual, and I'm glad to have it if only as an artifact.

A Pilot 912 with a posting nib. Finally.

This was the pen six, seven years ago that changed my (pen) life! Turned me into a Pilot (nib) fangirl.

I'm curious how you'll like it.

FTR, it took me a while to catch on that, Hey! I really like this nib! Wasn't immediate at all. Might have been a month (or more!), but one day while I was scribbling paragraphs I realized, Whoa, this nib!

Same with the Pilot Falcon SEF, at around the same time. I've been hooked ever since.

I caved again & pulled the metaphorical trigger on another Schon Dsgn rb. I'll leave reviews when they come in(*Insert face palm here*). Now, a ban on pens or ink until April!😊

“Many boys will bring you flowers. But someday you'll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won't matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Only that boy earns your heart."
