They all had great nibs

I have a diminutive S26 with a fablulous #2 B flex.  It's a delight.  Currently inked with Hero 232

Add lightness and simplicate.

My last impulse purchase:  It was a quarter century ago, at the Boston Pen Show.  I'd already bought everything I "needed" (hah) and was on my way out when I spotted a NIB/uninked MB Agatha Christie on a guy's table.  The price was at the high end of reasonable and he refused to budge.  The problem was, the price would've emptied my wallet, my car's fuel gauge was on empty, and I needed at least some cash to buy enough juice to get me home.  I pleaded my case.  The guy was nice enough to give me $10 off on the price so I could stop at a gas station.

Yesterday, I picked up another Narwhal Schuylkill, in this fabulous color called "Rockfish Red":

Since I didn't want the pen to make the journey to my mailbox alone, I also purchased this Turkish beauty, a Scrikss 418:

and this Scrikss Metropolis in brushed aluminum:

Yesterday, a Lamy Safari in Violet - it was in a sale reduced to £10.

Never tried one before. The ink cartridge supplied seems a bit "wishy washy" but, maybe that's the paper I'm writing on.

I think I'll buy a converter to open up the endless possibilities of bottled ink!

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Thanks chromantic! I'm afraid those Schuylkills are slightly addictive, it's my fourth one. 😊

A white Daiso fountain pen for $1.50 + tax. It seems to be the one reviewed here. I had to shave the lip at the end of the cartridge body down for it to fit into the body of the pen. It is by far the thinnest pen I own and I think the grip is going to be challenge for my large fingers.. It is a scratchy writer with the nib marked Brillo Medium (c.f. Brillo pad) and for me is more like an EU (M) than a JP (M) using the supplied blue-black ink cartridge.

For way less than a foo-foo coffee and assuming it doesn't give me writer's cramp I currently give it the thumbs up.

Yet another vintage Wearever Combo...green patterned celluloid.  I have avoided green as it was the most common color but I decided I should have at least one green one in the collection. I will now have 12  and am now somewhat adept at putting them back in service.   I enjoy carrying one as an EDC pen.

I'm not sure this counts as "impulsive". After all, I had a few hours on the bike to contemplate the purchase. 😉

Last night I asked a friend whether she wanted to go on a little bike ride today.

"Sure, what did you have in mind?"

"I want to go to Tilburg to pick up a pen".

"Okay, but I have to be back by 3:30 pm to pick up the kids from summer camp".

"How about we ride there and take the train back from a station in the vicinity?"
"Count me in!"

So here she is:

That's dedication right there.

If I ever rode a bike to pick up a pen, said bike would have a motor...LOL.

Hahaha! I love it :)

If I'd known, I'd have got you to have a good shout at them about my horrendously delayed back order...

Nice pen - I caved in on a very silly pair of Narwhals this week too!

You know I'd have done so for you, with glee. How long have you been waiting?

Which ones did you get? The Key West pens?

We're at just under three months now. And the hold up is a pen which every other supplier seems able to sell from stock. I've already cancelled one order, but this one includes a couple of things I simply can't get elsewhere, and they are just useless at communicating. I ended up having to phone last time, but that's just more cost that I shouldn't be having to deal with. It's such a shame, as I do like them, but they're just not good at the admin side of things.

And you have me completely sussed. Exactly those - the gold one is just too good a match to the Edelstein Golden Beryl not to have it, and the blue is just downright pretty - I've stubbed the nib on it and filled it with GvFC Gulf Blue and it's really much nicer than it should be for the price. I don't normally bother with c/c pens, but for sparkly inks, they can be a better option as they're so easy to clean.

Karas Kustoms Ink v.2 Shipwreck. I've actually been trying to cut my collection down and consolidate a bit, but I saw it and the finish just called to me. As I already had another couple coming in the mail I'm now left to make a difficult culling decision, but I'm entirely happy with the Shipwreck.

Franklin-Christoph Model 20 in Tiger Red. I've casually had my eye on the 20 to try out, and then this one popped up used at a very reasonable cost. Eventual goal is to use this with a Sheaffer Lifetime nib from the 1920s.

Is that still available or are you looking at getting one pre-owned?  Karas Kustoms are a decent outfit. I've always found their nibs to be well tuned out of the box and I'm happy to see the modifications with their v2 pens.

I completely lost it at those guys last night, after placing an order deliberately picking only items that were shown as being in stock, and still they cannot either fulfil and dispatch it immediately, or give me a definite and guaranteed time-frame. I sent them a list of >50 line items that I've ordered and paid for in the past few months, that have yet to be dispatched, and asked for a status update to account for every single one of those.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
