You got which retailer I was alluding to. 😏  It's the Aurora Optima O' Sole Mio I've been eyeing for several months, on and off, until maybe late in 2019 when I started buying a lot of Aurora piston-fillers at awesome prices (mainly) elsewhere, then topped up with a bunch of c/c-filled Ipsilon and Tu pens as well; and since the O' Sole Mio never dropped to a comparable price point, I've sorta left it off my list of pens to watch for the past year or so.

I'd just want them to confirm that it really was seven days on availability, and that other missing stuff might even be included in the shipment...

It is a very pretty pen ;)

In response to your question, Yes, the attached receipt did include an itemized list of what I purchased and included individual and total pricing (including sales tax) and shipping (which was free for this order).

Firstly, the receipt sent by email is not accessible/retrievable from the Cult Pens web site by the customer, as far as I'm aware; the customer experience using the online shop application platform is my repeatedly stated focus, since you wanted to talk about my experience of how yours differed. Secondly, looking at the receipts I received for my orders in May, the prices against the line items do not show the individual discounts in the accounting, but lumps some of the discounts as a single adjustment at the bottom while fiddling with some other items' base prices above it. That's what I object to; it never used to be that way before March 2021, and the figures I saw on the checkout screen would match what were on the receipts.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Oh, I know it won't be able to source the item for me and get it ready for dispatch in anywhere near the stated time-frame. Four weeks, maybe; and, in my past experience for several orders of Aurora products that weren't in stock, the manufacturer and/or regional distributor also contributed significantly to the lengthy delays on every single occasion.

Both the USPS and eBay catch a lot of flack, but this is pretty amazing: I purchased this set on late Tuesday morning, and they arrived mid-day today. Remarkable, just like the condition of the items!

Midnight Sky. I picked it up from EndlessPens at a good price at the time; the fact that I chose a Zoom nib on it more or less set the scene/expectation of my not using it much.

If I recall correctly, you are partial to thinner nibs. Why did you choose a Zoom?  Does it work as you expected it to but you rarely find it is the proper tool for the task at hand?

I'm partial to nibs that can reliably put down narrow lines of ink when I write with them, and I prefer a precise grind — either evidenced by an expertly finished ultra-extra-super-duper fine point, or interesting tipping geometry instead of a smooth round glob.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I simply have too many Sailor pens with gold EF, (but predominantly) F, and MF nibs here; and if another new Sailor chosen to join the fleet — just because it looks nice and the price is right (e.g. under US$100 for a Pro Gear Slim) — is destined to spend most of the time on standby, I may as well get some variety in terms of nib capability as long as it's still something with which I could and would want to write. (That counts Broad nibs out.) I know I can get fairly narrow lines out of a Zoom nib, it just takes more mental concentration; but the positive trade-off is that I can produce thick lines with it for special effect on demand.

See, I gave some advice to a poster here, about what to do with his pen that had problems, that he had bought from a shop. He posted back to say all was well and the shop was wonderful. It was a shop I hadn't heard of, so I checked them out, and (you're probably way ahead of me) they had a pen I wanted. There it was, staring me in the face. I actually waited a day, but during correspondence with the shop they sent me a discount, so I bit. It hits the post tomorrow, from the UK, so probably a week or two. Sigh. I wasn't going to buy any pens this month.

And, do you want to keep the name of this shop private? Or share the wealth?

No problem, its URL is vintagefountainpens.co.uk and the proprietor is Mark Catley. I hope you find something you like.

I have fallen off the wagon again. I had determined that I was not going to buy any more fountain pens. I surely have enough by now.

Well, the other day someone clued me in to the "Rosetta Explorer Fountain Pen" @ $4.99 and I wavered. I was leaning this way and that way on that wagon. I hemmed and I hawed. And then I just tumbled off and suddenly bought it. Yeah, that was impulsive.

The pen is inexpensive, not the last expensive fountain pen I've ever bought though. It's a black pen, which I've been liking lately, and it's a cartridge filler, which is what I prefer for convenience. Maybe it will be a fountain pen that I'll end up liking.

I suppose that I'd better climb back up on that wagon again and try to steel my resolve better in the future. Meanwhile I'm looking forward to getting that new fountain pen :P 🤞.

Last night I finally decided to pull the trigger on a black Pilot E95s (M).

Ordered a box of Pilot blue-black carts with it, and I am really looking forward to trying the pen.

Stopped myself from buying any of the Aurora Optima pens in spite of the awesome discounted prices. I looked at the several I had in the display box, and had to ask myself, when was the last time I actually wrote with any of them for pleasure, other than to assuage the guilt of having spent money amassing these beautiful-looking pens?

However, I did order a Kaigelu 356, as well as the blue and the brown Kaco Edge models (in spite of their not being available only with F nibs and not EF nibs; and the EF nib on the black model was terribly disappointing by being to fining broad).

Well, the Italians got my money after all, just not Aurora this time. Three Tibaldi Bononia is different colours on order. I thought Edison Pen Co. was it to kick Leonardo Officina Italiana's butt at that price point in the market, but if for the same price I can get an Italian-made pen (with a JoWo-made nib) with ebonite feed or a made-in-USA pen (with a JoWo-made nib) with plastic feed, that's two out of two ticks in favour of Tibaldi.
