What Was Your Last Impulsive Pen Acquisition?

The Narwhal vac fill- yes, it took a few days to ponder, but was still impulsive.  I had been researching nicer vac fills, and then bought a pen for someone else as a gift, and I had a coupon, and I was over the free shipping threshold...

I'm happily awaiting its arrival.

Oh, I haven’t visited the Geek forum in a long time, I should check in and look at that. I did find a source for Geha cartridges should I need them. I have a Pilot squeeze converter, but I don’t know if it’s a B or 20.  My Geha piston filler is such a good pen, and I’m excited to experiment with the new one.

I haven’t been there (FPG) in a year or more, but I remembered sending an email to BoBo about that covertor thread, and I still had the email.  He has been such a resource for FPN about GeHa pens that I wanted him to know about it in case someone asked about convertor.

One of these:

(and one of the green Grasshopper variant as well).

I needed to use a credit so I purchased a charcoal grey, fine nib Lamy Safari yesterday and gave it to my son today.

It has a particularly stiff nib.

The one on the pink pen is allegedly bent at an angle and rather small, when exposed, as far as distinguishing characteristics go.

I am not sure if you are being very clever or it's unintentional. If the latter, I will point out that a strategically removed 'space' makes your description quite pertinent.

It would; but this is a safe space, and there is to be no swaffelen here.

I learned a new word today.

I trust it isn't the first time you came across references to Clinton v. Jones, though. 🙉

A Chilton pneumatic sleeve filler. I should know better than to trawl ebay before breakfast.

I started thinking I wanted another Faber-Castell Grip pen. Before I went to sleep, I looked for them, and there are more colors than I thought. I ended up ordering a Silver Glam version (like @A Smug Dill)that is shipping from my local pen store on amazon. One seller had it cheaper, but had 12% one star reviews. I had over $18 in rewards money, which helped bring down the price. I wonder what the Pearl Glam looks like. Photos don’t do a lot of pens justice in their actual looks.

(Note to self: don't play with a Chilton's filling system until you're absolutely sure it's empty.)

Gah! Amazon email indicates my order has been cancelled. Yet the pen, with same seller is still on the website. I know the seller because it’s my local pen store. They told me once they only get one of certain pens in stock, so maybe it was not in stock. The one in question when they told me that was a Lamy special edition color.

I checked Amazon again, and my rewards money is back, so I ordered the Silver Glam again, this time from Marketfair Stationery which I think is Goldspot.

Just watched the Figboot video on the  Ensso Italia in Jonathon Brooks PM4, an LE of 80 (38 left as of this posting moment).

Before I even finished watching, I went to the website, checked if there were any still available (only about 435 people had viewed the video at that time) and put one in my cart. After watching the rest of the video I went back and looked at the pen more closely. As the pen had a 14K nib and there was a 15% discount I decided to go ahead and buy it.

Of course a $50.00 refund, earlier today from a previous bay purchase, made the actual price more palatable, I probably would have done the buy anyway. if, somehow, I don't like the pen, one of the people in my pen club (The Boston Pen People) loves "colorful" pens and would probably be interested in buying it. The price before the discount was reasonable and with the discount it was MORE attractive. Include free shipping and it feels like a very good buy to me.

Here is the link for the video: Figboot on Pens - Ensso Italia Johnathan Brooks PM4. (PM stands for Primary Manipulations.

You will find the website information at The pen I bought... 38/80 remaining as of this moment - 5/20/23 1:37 P.M. EDST

I don't think I have ever made this quick a purchase online/under these circumstances. Of course impulse buys are an important part of pen show buys, but that's different.

As soon as I get it, I'll post.   I took a 180° turn, and got myself a cool vintage Japanese pen.
