Green 01 - Hieronymus

Hieronymus Stationers Ag is Suisse company that specialises in the manufacture and sale of premium stationery goods (paper, pens, inks). The company is located in Zurich but operates also via the website www.hieronymus-cp.com. They offer a wide variety of luxury products and I believe they market themselves skillfully and in an elegant way. I advice you to watch short promotional clips on their internet site.

Among other products Hieronymus offers inks. I'm not sure who makes them for you but the bottles are unique and loos stunning on the photos:

The inks are definitely priced premium - with the price of 48 CHF they outclass Caran d'Ache and Iroshizuku inks. I believe only Luis Vuitton inks are more expensive (50 euros / bottle)? If I'm wrong, please, correct me.

The sample of Green 01 was sent to me by Morbus_Curiositas. In the same time I've received samples of few other colors that I'll review soon.

Green 01 has interesting shade that I enjoy. The flow and lubrication are good and it displays some water resistance which I always find useful. If I'll ever be in Zurich I'll get myself a bottle. I'm not sure if it will be this color, I have few more to try, but I'd like to have this bottle in my collection :) I love it's minimalistic and elegant look.

Intresting. I'm really liking the color range available on the site--looking forward to further reviews on this ink line.

I wonder how the metal caps hold up over time, as some inks can be corrosive.

There is "something" about this ink. Thanks for putting it through it's paces.

Please tell me you have the 01 Blue to test . . . :) . . . that one I really like.

Nice review. I find all 15 colours -- as you say -- quite elegant but the price is atrocious. The 50-ml bottles come in at 40.50 Euros a piece plus a lot for the shipping, too, even from Switzerland to Germany. These are the most expensive inks I've yet encountered.

Vuitton inks are also nice and cost "only" 36.00 Euros (also for the 50-ml bottle), and the shipping is free..

Apart from all that, the Vuitton bottles themselves are definitely better IMO. They look better and also take on any pens. The Hieronymus bottles look a bit tight for an M1000 or a 149, but I'm not sure.

This is my kind of green......    ... Sadly my bottle of Racing Green cost me a lot less ... so I am not too keen in spending that kind of money. :roller1:

Thank you for the review. I splurged for this & the Brown "One" and because I do NOT have a bottle of MB Racing Green I am happy with the purchase. The shipping cost is ridiculous for 2 bottles of ink BUT it is "next day air" & I imagine most customers who are purchasing items from Hieronymus don't mind the extra shipping charge. I think the bottles are equally deserving of the ink. They definitely are my favorite bottles of any inks I have. I will be interested in your review of Brown One if it is one of your samples. It lives in my Aurora Africa & seems to be "at home" & is unique among my browns.

I love the color, but I can't see myself ever ordering these at that price. I would probably seek out the Kingdom Note inks (still love Tanna Japonesis).

@Tas - there'll be Blue 01 review soon :)

+1

Also was wondering if anyone has tried their paper. It seems a bit unusual as well.

Do let me know if you decide to get some. Perhaps I can order a bottle or two and we can split the shipping cost in proportion to the number of bottles.

Edit: (bleep), that bottle, not a very great/beautiful design like Iroshizuku or Caran D'Arch but very elegant and practical. Can't stop looking at it.

Their shipping is even more costly than their products.

I believe someone who lives in Zurich can help us.

We can place the order and pay online and talk to their customer care/contact them via email to hold the order in shop and someone (member) can come to pick it up for us.

The member can use cheaper shipping and ship it to us. He can be paid via PayPal (with a little extra).

Not sure how many would be willing to do this.

Iirc, Visvamitra is from Poland. We will have to pay VAT if we ask them to ship to Visvamitra.

I don't mind a few De Atrementis inks. No problem with me.
