Want me to send you a sample?

Sure! I can do a review straight away. And I have a review of the classic Scabiosa in the works so a shoot out may be in order.

You're the best!

I tried this ink today and agree that Scabiosa is dusty, while Violet #3 is not.

And Violet #3 seems much drier than Scabiosa. I wonder whether it contains more iron gall.

I need to correct my earlier observation. When I tried IG Violet #3 at a pen show a year ago, it seemed dry, but maybe it had simply dried in the nib of the test pen.

Today I took a sample of someone else's bottle, and it is quite wet--rich and lovely on Tomoe River or Clairefontaine but less suitable on some of the cheap paper I use at the office. So far I've been using it in a Platinum Balance medium nib, which is the pen in which I habitually use iron gall ink. If I wanted to be able to write on copy paper or in a cheap composition book, I would probably want to use a narrower nib or a drier pen.

I like the look of IG Gummiberry, at least in scans, even better. Would it have similar flow to IG Violet #3?
