Hey everyone,

I'm looking to buy a VP with a Raden design, but I need your opinion to decide which one looks best. Price is not a question.

I have the one on the top. It's gorgeous!

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

My preference is the order listed.

Same. Water (the top one) is my favorite, and would be the one I would buy if I were to get one.

Let me just add that the way the raden chips are placed in the "water surface" pen is impressive. The widths gradually taper off at the ends, and the colors in different areas are well matched. Quite skillful.

I like the order as listed from 1-3 as well, if price no object, get all 3, each one is different and all are gorgeous, have had few nightlines/raden pens in the past, and each one was different, good luck and let us know which one you buy...

I went through the same dilemma a few months back (for me it was between Water and Stripe), and I decided on the Minamo (Water Surface). I love mine. Good luck with your decision making! Here are a couple of photos of mine.

Wow, great pictures! At first I liked the stripes, but now I'm voting water surface, these pics turned my opinion!

These are great photos. Pilot's advertising shots do not do justice to this pen!

Thanks paulliao and Dr. Grace, I'm glad you like the photos. The Water Surface pen really looks as sparkly like that in real life, so I am mesmerised by it every time I pick it up.

YugiRider, I hope you will let us know which one you went for once you make your decision. :)

You don't, by chance, have excellent photos like that of the Galaxy raden, do you? I'm particular drawn to that one. FWIW, my 9yo son thinks the Water Surface (from your pictures) is way cooler than the Galaxy. ;)

SNAK, great pictures! I recently order a VP Raden Minamo from Engeika. I hope it's as beautiful as yours.

kreinhard: Sorry, Water Surface is the only raden pen I have. My 8-year-old son has a pretty good Cool-o-metre too! ;)

fireofspring: I am sure yours will be just as pretty, based on Pilot's good QC in general. Please show us yours when it arrives, either here or in the Don't Just Tell Us ... Show Us thread. :) Which ink are you planning to put in it first?

I would be hard-pressed to choose one from photos, because they all look beautiful. I would have to look at each in my hands and turn it over and over and then compare.

Looks like you can't go wrong with a decision, though.

I'm thinking a bright but legible blue or purple like Kobe 29 Suma Kaihin Blue.

They all look good to me. They're just too expensive for that little bit of design. That 600 bucks you're gonna spend you could get a nice Nakaya.
