I need the black/gold one. I think it is really beautiful. I also like the new Montblanc.

I prefer the "all black" model, but both are beautiful. I hope that the Imporium is not too light - I prefer substantial pens. The Makrolon Lamy 2000 wasn't heavy enough.

When compared to the 2000, the Imporium is definitely a substantial pen, both in weight and size.

I like the black gold one most... I also think the nibs look interesting :)

Appelboom has the price listed at over 200 euros! Significantly higher price than the 2000...

It's quite nice out here in the sunshine...

It's expensive because it's all titanium, gold and platinum. Much more expensive materials than the LAMY 2K.

The nib looks way out of place and its a C/C. Looks like a 1960s, Area 51 alien pen.

Not my style. Still, always exciting to see(kind of) new pens.

Actually, the listing states "PVD - finished" which stands for Physical Vapor Deposit" which means that the Ti is deposited/bonded on a base material.

Exactly what the base material is is not stated.

And the "platinum" finished is "galvanized"(?).

Looks a bit like Frank Herbert's sandworm. I'd call it the Tribute to Dune model.

On the other hand, it reminds me of some of the visuals from the movie Metropolis. One can almost image the design of this pen as a skyscraper image from the 1927 film.

some Kickstarter pens are made from solid titanium bars and they aren't so expensive

let's just say its the revival of the "persona" but of a different breed...

so Im presuming the difference with the persona are as follows

nib and feed (persona used a conical shaped nib)

the cap lost the roll stopper from the (Persona MK2)

no longer is it the persona proprietary converter but the standard Z23 converter?

the the cap lost its guilloche pattern

The nib also lost the breather hole.

Persona's threads in the section are more subtle

Yeah, it's overpriced, especially since it isn't even solid Ti. Also, they went lazy and didn't custom make the nib like the Persona had and ruined the lines.

Hello folks,

I have Always been a great friend of Lamy's: my first oen was a Lamy 27.

About this chap: The cap looks uncommonly like the Eversharp Skyliner.

I think it is a bit too expensive for what it pretends to offer. Anyway, my Lamy 2000 has been a very good friend.
