Gold Pilot Pen Question

I am new to this forum and have recently found my old stash of pens. In the box there are quite a few nice pens with some Mont Blanc and Pilot pens that I would like to sell. It would help me a lot if someone could tell me how to price these pens as I want to sell them.

I have three solid (plated?) gold Pilot instruments:

  • marked with both the Pilot name (on the caps) and the Grandee name (on the clip.)
  • marked 22 K on the band.
  • gold from tip to tip.
  • fountain pen with nib marked Pilot 14K-585.
  • ball point pen with cartridge.
  • pencil with lead and erasure inside.

These units are in very good condition with minor use and no marks or dents.

It would sure help me sell these if I could determine their value. I also have Mont Blanc pens that are very similar (one fountain pen and one roller ball) solid gold (plated?) cases--but that's probably another conversation. Attached (if I can do it) are some photos of the Pilot instruments to help identify them.

If you have any information that could help me, or if you want first shot at them, please respond to this thread or contact Tim at howwhatandwhy at gmail dot com.

I don't know anythings about them.... But they look really classy. Why don't you use them yourself?

I think of my FPs as my children.

Thanks for the replies. I have done some searching and have not come with much either on the general net or on eBay. I found one listing for a roller ball and other listings for same name but different style pens...

So, I am still hoping someone has an idea of their value. Perhaps, I should just list them on the classifieds for best offer. I'm just not sure how to sell them fairly.

Thanks again for any thoughts or ideas.

Tim

Well, I just haven't been able to find much out about these Pilot gold pens. I have asked around, used "Google Advanced", and attacked eBay and eBay International with very little success. It appears that these pens were manufactured in other similar configurations (such as in black with gold trim) but no luck in finding exact duplicates. Maybe there were a ceremonial offering?? KBeezie's reference is the only other similar data found on a roller ball--thanks.

If anyone has any additional information other than what I have noted above, please post here. I am going to sell these and other pens and hope to establish some kind of value for them.

Thanks, Tim
