Finally somebody with same experience about Sailor compared to Pilot.

All my Pilots are amazing writers, I am now considering why I was such an idiot to buy so many pens, when I really needed 2 - 3 Pilots.

I have 2 Sailors, a vintage one, very very nice, based upon that I bought a Professional Gear and will prolly try to sell it on ebay, that is how happy I am with it.

 

That has been my experience every time I buy a pen Why another?

For my 7 sailors 5 of them (replaced repeatedly by the seller) had either a scratchy nib or a toothy feedback, out of box. I went for every nib size from fine to broad. Finally I went with a Pro Gear 2, which had kind of a good nib. I understand the nib thing, it kills all the happiness even if your pen is very great. I had so far a problem with only one pilot pen with a FM nib, which I got replaced immediately.

 

All said some of my friends have ended up with more than good, out of box sailor nibs.

i bought my pilot 92 after reading his review and have beccome a pilot fanboy have no complaints with my pilots

i got my pilot pens from ebay, engeika, rakuten or jsubculture the last two give you great prices n choices

Very nice review, and I give another +1 for the Pilot C74. Mine is a SFM nib and it needed a drier ink for my paper.

 

The C74 plus Pelikan 4001 brilliant black ink puts me in fountain pen heaven :-)

Thank you so much.. Incidentally, this is the only pilot pen below 100 USD which comes with such a wide range of nib choices.

That's all there is to it. Nib and everything else are exactly the same.

 

PS pick the oranges. They're nicer

I still prefer the C74 over the Ch92. Just my personal preference, though I have multiple CH92s.
