Breaking news: Reviews can come out on Friday. :)

Even if you aren't usually a fan of brown inks, please just look at the review of Brandy Dazzle.

A brown "sparkler" is so exciting to imagine I would cancel my bottle of Chivor if it had not already shipped! Instead I think I will just enjoy BOTH lines of ink & be thankful for more selections of sparkles. I thank you for your reviews in advance & appreciate your "heads up!"

Looking forward to the reviews. My wallet? Not so much. The husband? Well, between DCSS -- including 2 nights at the hotel -- and the little writing desk I bought in Centerville, Indiana last weekend -- I haven't brought up the topic yet....

Let me just share a little story about a friend of mine's Mother.

She found her Mother upset because her Father had received an overdraft notice from their bank caused by a check her Mother had written. Shortly afterward her Mother went outside to mow their grass & returned promptly because the mower would not start for her. She asked her daughter to accompany her to purchase a NEW mower so she could cut the grass. My friend asked, "But how will you pay for a new mower? I thought you said the bank account was overdrawn?" Her Mother replied,"WELL I will write a check, of course!" Her daughter said, "but if there is no money in the account ......won't Dad be angry?"

Her Mother replied, "Well he will just have to transfer funds from the business account to cover my OTHER check & I am already in trouble for that..........SO why wait to get another cussing when he is ALREADY angry..........THIS way I get two things accomplished with only ONE angry outburst!"

It was her Mother's approach to "fiscal responsibility" in their life & had been "passed along" by her Mother in law when she married her Father. "Mammy" had welcomed her three daughter in laws into her life & shared her "secret" for a successful & happy marriage to her husband, "Never let your right hand know what your left hand is up to!" She treated her daughter in laws to many shopping trips to New York City to enjoy the "fruits of her her Husband's successes" besides gifting each couple with considerable largess upon their marriages. My friend's Parents received a business & house when they married with others receiving similar properties. It had obviously "worked" for Mammy & she welcomed her new "Daughters" with her secret to a happy married life.

I have always been charmed by my friend's Mother's approach to life, "Why provoke 2 cussins' when ONE will suffice!"

Diamine capitalizing on J. Herbin's wild success with their 1670 line...

I hope there are no lawsuits in the works.

Oh please... is only good business. I haven't heard of anyone having the rights to shimmering inks. Is open season and is great for us the consumers.

We get to pick and choose the best ones. Nothing personal, is all business. ;)

Like the J. Herbins, these will never see the inside of my fountain pens. However, they could be fun with a dip nib pen or brush.

My amusement of this Anglo/Franco War of Sparkles aside, my hope is that the bottle neck of the Diamine inks doesn't follow suit to be just as hopelessly narrow.

Nice one Feathers.

Shimmering Seas and Sparkling Shadows look the cat's pyjamas from that, but I think Night Sky would look ace if the photo was better!

Agreed, I'm hoping when Chrissy posts her reviews tomorrow, that the photos will be better. :) I actually thought Brandy Dazzle was going to be more brown? It looks really red on my screen. I was hoping for a deep brown with gold shimmer.

Yeah, hi-res non-flash photos will be the key. I think they may have scanned them in and the light from the scanner has played off the gold and silver...and then they've reduced resolution. Either way, we need more.

Agreed re: brandy dazzle. I'm seeing it as blood orange on my screen. The actual colour of dark brandy would be excellent with a gold shimmer.

While I'm totally not opposed to blood orange (I love orange), a warm brown would be killer.

Yes, exactly, orange is still cool, I just had my heart on a beautiful brown with gold sparkle :) I guess we shall soon find out :)

JHerbin has nothing to fear... these are just sparkling ink..... very similar to those glittery pens I had when I was a kid.

If they had some funky sheen.. then it would have been more impressive...
