Brown No 4 (Baked Cherry) - Kwzi

Recommended Posts

As some of you may know Poland is one of biggest exporter of cosmetics, furniture and fruits. But we also have inks :)

Hopefully more and more inkthusiasts know what the four letters - KWZI - mean. They mean good ink, saturated color. The fruit of the passion.

You can check Konrad's site here.

Brown 4 is one of relatively new colors. To be honest I don't really like it - it has too much red - for a brown - to my taste.

I also have a question to admins - given that KWZI Inks are in stock in two shops (Sakura Pen Gallery and Vanness) can I put reviews of the line in main ink review forum, where we can find reviews of Sailor inks sold in just one shop on planet earth?

Vis, if it's available for sale in either of those stores (or any stores really), put it in reviews. If you are the special tester and it's a test only ink (you have been known to be a fantastic ink tester), then keep it here.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thanks for the review.

Weirdly enough, if you look at it not as a brown, but think of it as a burgundy, it's more appealing. And I normally hate this color. But I kinda like this. Go figure....

OH YEAH!!!!... I am with you buddy!!!! .. We should ask to batch-move all the KWZI threads to the regular Review forum.. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/MSN_Emoticons/MSN-Emoticon-thums-up-059.gif

Even if they are not for sale in either store YET!!... The new green from JHerbin has been reviewed to death a whole month before availability in stores... :D :D

And BTW... I am LOVING this brown... it seems to jump from the page... I am getting a bottle for sure.. !!!

It is an interesting color. It reminds me of the Cherries in "Bounce" . A delicious holiday time "beverage" made with fresh cherries, sugar, and brandy, whiskey or rum. (or other) If you Google "Bounce" you can find Martha Washington's recipie.

Oh, right, back to KWZI Brown 4.... I appreciate all the photos provided by Visvamitra very helpful and detailed. Makes it much easier to see how the ink(s) behave - I should add, behaves on the *sample paper*

I have never heard of KWZI inks and it was interesting to visit the site to read more about them.

With that said, I think some FPN members may find it useful that the review included where the inks can be purchased.

I like the color & enjoy the many shades within the ink. It reminds me of some fun times...

Isn't that what our favorite colors should do? Hence, I would enjoy using "Cherry Bounce" Brown 4 :)

This color reminds me of when I was a boy in the '50s and you could go to the soda fountain and order a cherry Coke.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

wow. very nice. i'm not into red inks, but this one is real nice. kinda reminds me of waterman brown with its deep reddish tone. more like brownish maroon. it certainly has more of a brown shade than this baked cherry ink, but pretty close.

Vis, great review as always. Here is KWZI's Marroon and FPN's Dumas. I like these kinds of colors, but find these are not different enough for me to enjoy. (Keep in mind, that I can really love the differences in blues and pinks so I clearly don't enjoy these dark reds and browns as much as I prefer the cooler colors.)

  • 3 years later...

Too red for a brown? Too brown for a red?

I just received a sample of this and I find it stunning!

"Russet" is a useful word!
