Chinese Pens Show And Tell.

Luoshi 806. The only hooded fine nib I own. Cap: Lavender coloring sprinkled onto a black pen. Clip is gold tone with a jewel in the tip. Nice design in the clip, however, it is very snug. Barrel: Black with an image of two panda bears in the gold band that encircles the bottom of the barrel. Very slight step leading to the section. Nib: Hooded fine/gold tone. Have owned this pen for about 7 yrs. Have only used this pen 2-3 times--am not partial to fine nibs. I keep this pen for those very rare occasions when a fine nib might be warranted. Company name & model # imprinted on the side of the cap. A black piece in the finial.

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Jinhao 1200. Snap Cap. Called the Noblest Golden Dragon. This pen has a lot of bling!! Not a pen many men would like. Some have considered it garish, however, I do like the bling. Weight 55 g. Length 140 mm. Diameter 14 mm around cap & approx. 12 mm. barrel diameter. Nib is smooth; #6 broad/two-tone. There is some kind of coating that gives the pen a very smooth touch. Two red jewel eyes on the dragon clip & the clip is easy to use, Cap finial has an interesting design. Section: Nice grip.

My first Jinhao X750 was the stainless steel which I purchased about 2009/2010. A couple of yrs ago I replaced the medium nib with a Goulet 1.1 stub. This is one of my favorite Chinese pens, and I have discovered I am partial to broad & 1.1 stub nibs. The X750 & X450 have been reviewed by many pen reviewers. Of the two pen I prefer the look of the X750. I have noted, in recent posts, that the X750 & X450 now come in a beautiful purple and pink colors.

I have five Chinese pens in my embryonic collection, (in fact these form the foundation of my collection, they are the pens that have started me off).

I would appreciate more information about the Crocodile, e.g pen number as there does not seem to be a number on it.

Just had a look at the Duke 552 bamboo on the 'bay, they are selling for 50 and 100 dollars Australian. Is a Chinese pen really worth this much? Otherwise a really smooth looking fountain pen.

Some chinese pens in my estimation ARE worth that much if you are

the lucky person who owns one,Jinhao for instance are made from

solid brass as far as I am aware and some have the most fabulous NIBS. oneill

I'm really liking the blue one.

I do still use my shimmering sands regularly, but that blue looks like an ideal baystate blue candidate.

Ian, it is a good candidate for Baystate Blue. Not only the blue Jinhao X750, but the Jinhao Century are both good candidates for this ink.

These two pens are old Jinhao pens with no model #. Both pens were purchased together approximately 11 yrs ago, Nibs: #6 - replacemet German nibs - fine; smooth; no skipping; good ink flow; not a very wet nibs. Barrel: Both black, with different color caps. Cap: Clip too snug; snap caps. The Jinhao clip, as seen on the X750, identifies the pen. Cost was approximately $6 for the two pens.

How do you like that purple?

Beautiful dark reddish purple! Now I'm waiting for a dark olive green X750.

Your pens are nice too, excellent choices!
