चिन्तनीया हि विपदां आदावेव प्रतिक्रिया
न कूपखननं युक्तं प्रदीप्ते वन्हिना गृहे

The effect of disasters should be thought of beforehand. It is not appropriate to start digging a well when the house is ablaze with fire.

Just one word of caution.

Better not get me started on my books. If I am usually verbose, I lose all limits when talking of books. :D

You say that as if it were a BAD thing....

Here are three. Note that the G.B. Shaw quote was "borrowed" from Hegel.

Yeah, they are great quotes in a masterful execution. 🖋️

ADDED: sorry, I posted the following quote twice. Please do accept my apologies.

@Norfolk, thank you so very much.

Yesterday was a bad day with some server disks failing (and today other disk in another server), so today I have two quotes to send:

शरीरस्य गुणानाश्च ,
दूरम्अन्त्य अन्तरम् ।
शरीरं क्षणं विध्वंसि ,
कल्पान्त स्थायिनो गुणा: ।।

There is a big difference between the human body and its qualities.
Because the Human body lives for a short period whereas the qualities are remembered forever.

Sanskrit_Shloka_There_is_a_big...jpg.68f08ae264e7d00d4fc7fb83559455c3.jpg

(I hope I did the hyphenation correctly)

न चोरहार्यं न च राजहार्यं न भ्रातृभ्राज्यं न च भारकारि।
व्यये कृते वर्धत एव नित्यं विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम्॥

It cannot be stolen by a thief.
It cannot taken away by a King.
It cannot be divided among brothers.
It does not cause load. It always increases when spent.
The wealth of knowledge is the greatest of all wealths.

Sanskrit_Shloka_It_cannot_be_stolen...jpg.9b5983b9af771967fdfef6ac03bf1a53.jpg

(Here I skipped an 'h' and had to add it later using the inter-word space).

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.
