I don't think I should continue Copperplate practice. My fingers start cramping quickly. Italic practice is much easier.

This is a random quote from my anthology, I haven't even read this work, to be totally honest. I just wanted to test this ink. So far, I'm not impressed with the sample, I don't think I'll buy this Smoky Quartz, not even on discount.

Found this quote in this thread, when I first opened it, months ago, and I wrote the quote down in my quote journal.

The shade of the ink is too light in this scan, I don't know why I didn't adjust it with Photoshop. My apologies.

And I have no idea why the scan shows such a sandy or grain-like texture in the letters. It's not that bad in person.

Pen: Generic Lamy style F nib.

Ink: Diamine Sepia.

One of my favorite quotations, the opening line of the novel. I've used it myself a few times around here.

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.

Now the main question is. Are we Soldiers, or are we LABOURERS....Today, the Anglo Saxon Mother,

Wife or Sister, are not alone, in tears for departed Sons, Husbands, and Brothers. The patient Trusting

Decendants of Africs Clime, have dyed the ground with blood, in defense of the Union, and Democracy.

Excerpt from letter by Cpl. James Henry Gooding to President Abraham Lincoln

Some years ago..never mind how long precisely having little or no money in my purse..and nothing

particular to interest me on shore..I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world

NOTE: This is NOT a favourite quote. This quote is among my history of literature notes and I loathe it.

Revising history of literature made me rediscover a lot of misogynous authors, essaysts, and "intellectuals" of the Victorian age. What a bunch of poor, brain-dead (bleep).

Ink: Diamine Midnight.

On a positive note, here's the end of a feminist poem. I'm just not noticing that this post should go in the poetry thread. Welp.

Doesn't seem to me that growing up male in the '50s was that different from growing up female in the '50s.

This thread has slowly become more and more politicized, so I'll be signing off.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

What an unfortunate occurrence. I didn't mean to policitize the thread and I didn't mean to drive anybody out.

On a lighter note, here's one of my favourite quotes that I discovered earlier this year.

Pen: Lamy 1.5mm stub.
