I like your final "Dhis took forever" thought. Not bad, interesting hand with a half-uncial/Irish pointed feel about it. Keep on truckin'. And work with this one a bit, it may turn out to be one of the hands you most like for accenting points.

A bit of esoterica that hardly anyone but me cares about: That crossed "D" is actually a capital eth - Ð - and sounds like our modern-day "th" sound. Thus "Ðat" sounds like "that." Actually in Old English the word would be Ðæt (the ae looking thing is an ash, and sounds like the a in cat.) Or it could also be spelt Þæt (capital thorn, ash, t). The eth and the thorn sound identically, and I am still unaware of a rule that dictates which to use in whatever situation. So AFAIK they can be used interchangeably by whim.

 

So much for adventures in geekiness for now.
