My father used the same technique, pose a question for me to answer, at the dinner table when I was in my early teens. It was his effort and goal to (successfully) teach me to evaluate the question and whatever information provided, think logically, and to form and debate an opinion. Mind you, he had a trick to force me argue an opposing position once I succeeded arguing my opinion. It was not uncommon for these dinner table discussions to last until midnight.

It was not uncommon for these dinner table discussions to last well past midnight - even on school nights with homework yet to be done.

I liked both the above posts, may I humbly add a quote by Socrates too:

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.

I really enjoy seeing samples of other fountain pen user's handwriting. Combining them with favorite quotes was a stroke of genius 😀

These were written on Rhodia grid paper.

The Gettysburg Address by Freddy on page 34 was inspiration for me to hand copy the well known 1915 Ypres battlefield poem "In Flanders Fields" by Canadian Lt. Col. John McCrae (1872-1918).

The verses below were an attempt to determine how tiny I could write yet be readable. As is obvious, printing is easier to control and more legible than cursive script at that size with the naked eye. The paper is Rhodia 5 x 5 mm grid pattern and 2.8" wide.

Very nice, and most inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
