Writing without lines is HARD. Also, found this funny post and thought about that really icy cold winter when a few of us in English class came to class with sweat pants and I was still trying to wrap my head around it because I'd never ever dared even to think about going to school in sweat pants, and I knew that people in strict faculties such as Law went to class dressed to the nines.

Today I sat a PhD admission exam. I was unprepared for half of the questions they threw at me, some were so specific that I admire whoever got them right even if I don't know them. To fight the impending depression, I practiced my Italic, and now I'm listening to podcasts and music while reading fan fiction.

I was talking with these students from all over Italy yesterday, right, before and after the exam. And there was this young woman who said that she barely attended any classes during her first year of Uni because she was so excited about everything in the new city, soaking up all that freedom.

I don't understand. When the lecture is engaging, you pay attention and and take notes. When the lecturer digresses uselessly, you can always whip out a book for one of your exams and read, or simply stare at people or at your surroundings in general. The atmosphere of a classroom is magical, there's nothing like it, and better yet is the atmosphere in a group of people who has just sat in the same class and are eager to go something else, eat, walk, chat, drink.

Even if you think that you have better things to do, go to class, the company usually more than makes up for it.

This is such good advice. I wish I had had someone to encourage me and support me in understanding what was being laid out before me. Maybe I would have even become a better writer.

The first time I held in my hands an enveloped with a bill inside, and actually understood what bills were, I was so ignorant that I thought the way people paid bills was by putting the money in an enveloped and mail it to the Ministry of the Economy and Finances. XD

Honestly though, high school should have a class about civic life or something of the sort. Some parents don't bother with teaching actual useful things to their kids.
