"buttery Smooth" Whaaaat?

I was a very keen adept of the "smooth-as-a-hot-knife-through-butter" dogma, and in my 2 and a half years of collecting I've come across some pretty darn smooth nibs..and they were fun for like....a couple of days, and then I would become bored with them, try other inks in them, clean them, put them aside and finally sell them to buy other pens...and guess what, in my current rotation I only have nibs that provide feedback..because feedback actually makes you fell you're writing with a fountain pen, and not just another gel pen or whatever... I guess the change occurred when I realized how fun it was to write with flexible dip pens, which aren't even remotely smooth (but they aren't really scratchy either, unless they've been used for a while).
