Hi

I have a Cross fountain pen and want to change its nib from medium size to fine size, but I don't know the pen's model, how do I chose the type of nib I should buy?

Note that not all pens have user replaceable nibs.

Actually, I don't know of a Cross FP that has a replaceable nib.

For those, you have to send it back to Cross for them to replace the nib for you.

You're in luck, apparently. I did a quick check, and there is both a fine and medium nib available for the ATX series. Hope this is what you were looking for....

A little more good news: Cross sells replacement nib units on its Web site, for pens currently in production. But some of us own Cross pens that aren't being manufactured any more. We aren't out of luck.

Like ac12, I consider the F nib of the original Cross Century a little too narrow. I had one of those nib units, and decided to buy a medium nib unit to replace it. They are sold on eBay and also at pen shows. I bought mine at the San Francisco Pen Show a couple of years ago. If not from Dale Beebe of Pentooling, from someone else who sells parts. All kinds of good things are available from the right seller. Still have the F nib unit and still write with it occasionally, but I could buy a M nib unit when I wanted to.
