Buying A New Lamy 2000 In Obb In The Us?

Hey!

I was thinking of getting a Lamy 2000 with an OBB nib, but much to my dismay it seems as though all the Lamy 2000's being sold new in the US are available only in the standard EF/F/M/B. I did find an eBay posting for Lamy 2000's (presumably new) with oblique nibs, but the seller is based in Hong Kong and I have reservations, particularly in regards to returning the pen should it not be in working condition or a fake. Has anyone bought a 2000 from that seller before? Is there anywhere else I could get a 2000 in OBB?

Thanks!

You won't get the Lamy 2000 with an OBB nib in the US.

Try german Amazon. They have it for 144.50 euro.

That's $160 without factoring in shipping, though. Would the warranty still cover the pen if I import in from Germany?

Admittedly, even if the warranty is void this wouldn't be the first time I go that route, my clear Custom 823 was imported from Japan. That said, for around that price I could probably get a US Lamy B ($122 from Amazon with free shipping) reground to an oblique from a nibmeister ($40 from most places I looked up, again without shipping). Different kind of end product, and definitely not as deliciously broad, but potentially better in regards to having a guaranteed smooth writer.

Regina Martini (who sells on her own auction site as" Martini auctions") as well as US Ebay (martini.de) has the 200 listed @ $139.99 with free shipping & a choice of 8 nib sizes. (I am not related, associated with nor employed by Ms. Martini BUT have purchased both used & new pens from both of her sites with complete satisfaction.) I recently purchased a Pelikan M600 White Tortoise from her so I could have an OBB nib & indeed it arrived with same. You might look @ her listing that is currently on Ebay item # 3510999578434.

I have a Lamy 2K with the OBB nib that I purchased from Germany. It is too broad for my writing and might be for yours too, although great as a signature pen. contact me if interested.

Thanks! For the future lazy, I've linked that auction here. It's a shame the expedited shipping is $40 but I guess I can't complain when the regular shipping option is free. I'll probably buy it as soon as I get my first paycheck of the new school year later this month. Glad to have found an eBay seller that's trustworthy.

Regina is amazing. Also check her site for auction formatted L2Ks. Sometimes you can find them for really great prices if you're lucky.
