It is in Curaçao right now. It came to me from Indiana.

Most of its pages are empty, but what's in there is a joy to see.

Gatz, they recognized the burgundy one. I had it opened on the table on Sunday. Thank you for explaining about an "Album" style. Your work is wonderful.

FountainPenPagan, I re-read the posts. You were the maker of that lovely butterfly. Can you show us the pattern? I know it is expensive to mail one. I loved it and everyone who saw it thought it was super cool. I'm going to try and include something similar when the book comes back. When I was a kid, my parents bought an envelope of "Rattle Snake Eggs" that warn you to keep it in a cool dry place. The package looked like the standard seed packages. Anyway, in Las Vegas it is never cool. The person feels compelled to open it up and once opened the envelope rattles and the person jumps. Once you look in side it is filled with a little bit of rice, a coin that is twisted in a rubber band and I think paperclips. The act of opening the envelope makes the coin spin and the rice rattle. I'll just have to figure out how to do it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Amber, I am missing out on the whole butterfly thing, and curiosity is killing me - please show at least a picture of the thing, since I never saw it and have as now no idea what exactly it is.( A butterfly that flew out of the book when it opened.... lots of possibilities there!). And since you're not going to send it to me I won't have that experience... so, time for you to show and tell!

LOL I'm sorry. Yes, i will pull it back out. It never flew out at me, but it's super cute and you should have the experience. If FPP posts up the design, I'll make one and mail it to you and keep the original with the book.

Once the rubber band is twisted, the bottom and top move independently and appear to flutter.

M - It appears as though I can mail it in a greeting card and it will not be injured. If you are keeping a book for a little while longer, I can mail you the card in Monday's post.

Hi Amber - yes, that would be nice. I am still in the reading phase, although I am starting to think about my contribution. But yes, I would like that. And then it can be reunited when it goes to musicman. A postcard would not take quite as long as the book did, I expect.

And thanks for the pictures, I now understand why fountainpagan was upset about it disappearing... and I am very happy that we have it back!

Do you still have my address, or do you need it again?

I'm mailing it in a "card" not a post card, but hopefully this will be faster.

Great, I'll be looking for it. It will be good to reunite the book with this guest... so it can continue its journey complete again. :)

You know, I never even noticed that the stowaway was designed to fly when the TAJ was at my place. I just thought it was pretty origami....

It didn't fly for me either, I didn't realize that it could until I watched the video.

M, when you get it, let us know if it flies. I didn't wind it up before sending.

If you didn't wind it up, it will not fly for her. The funny of it is to wind it up so that it flies up when received.

I am not the maker, Amber. Like I said: I am the one who has put it inside the TAJ, that is all. I buy these around here, at a stationery shop. I think these are asian made.

Well, they are darn cool. Thank you for sharing it with us. I was worried about it getting bent in a letter or card, but I sandwiched it and it should be fine. It wasn't wound up when I received it, so M, you will need to wind it up and try it.
