I thought I would share some photographs with you of part of my Duofold Collection. I have not included the modern Duofolds such as the Red DNA pen, Centennials etc of which I have many. I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs.

Great collection

I dont know much about vintage duofolds. Can you add a bit of commentary on age, nibs, filling systems, rarity etc?

Lovely collection, would love to see the modern ones too. I for one, never get tired of looking at duofolds.

Nice collection.

I am on the look out for a Mandarin Yellow Pencil but they appear to be even scarcer than the Mandarin Senior Pens.

Hello,

I also have a duofold. Information gathered indicates to be a 1920 model. Please see the pictures.

It could be a 1921. That was the first year the Duofold was sold.

Great collection

All of them should be button-fillers, which was Parker's primary filling system at that time.

Writehand and Wahl, your collections are both amazing!

I actually just found my first red Duofold in the wild, a Jr., and I'm very excited to add it to my collection.

The blue and white ones are True Blue Lucky Curves and therefore technically not Duofolds. The ladies gold set would also be just Lucky Curves.

However, there are Spoon Clip pencils in red & black that have a Duofold on the band. They actually pre-dated the 'Big Bro' pencils.

In response to NOS (New Old Stock).

Only one pen in the collection is a True Blue Duofold Lucky Curve, the others have only the Duofold Imprint.

To be precise all Parker pens of this stock were Duofolds. Lucky Curves are also Duofolds as the Parker Imprint and Banner proudly profess.

It was this era of manufacture of Duofold Pens which made George Stafford Parker his wealth and success and his pens a must have. The Big Red was selling in the 1920's for $7 the equivalent of almost $100 in todays currency. Don't forget that G.S. Parker offered a 25 year guarantee with his Duofolds. Something we can't avail of today.

The reason that Duofold writing instruments are still being produced is that the label Parker Duofold was and remains synonymous with quality.

I don't think that is entirely true. Parker was actually pretty selective with how they applied the "Duofold" name. When they released the Jade flattops in 1926, Parker did not put the Duofold mark on the barrel or advertise them as a Duofold because they wanted to see how the public would respond to this new model before risking the brand.

The True Blues were not part of the Duofold line, but were described as up to "Duofold Standards" in ads. They were pens of the same quality of Duofolds, but they were also economy models selling for $3.50 that lacked the 25 year nib guarantee of the regular Duofolds.

Also, the Lucky Curve feed was patented in 1894 and was used in dozens of models with no relation to the Duofold.

You have an amazing collection (much better than mine :D), but I think FlighterGuy was correct in his statement.
