A Shipwreck On My Finger.....

Alexcat

Recommended Posts

I was inking yesterday, and got some on my fingers, as is usual(I have a box of disposable gloves, but keep forgetting)

Anyway.....one inky finger looked ( to me)like old shipwrecks, the masts sticking up .....there's a village not far from me, which has a bay, and when the tides out, there are several wrecks visible, the masts sticking up at all angles. Eery, sad, beautiful.....

Makes feel like getting my painting mojo going. Inspiration comes in strange and unknown ways and places....

Alex

Perhaps it is time for you to move to watercolours.

Am an artist.....just not been doing any painting for years, due to being full time carer and other things. Hoping to get back to it at some point......not quite got my 'oomph' back as yet: just over a year since my husband beamed up to heaven, and mostly just getting by is the best I can manage, for now.

So, maybe at some point..... :)

And thanks for all the lovely comments.

Alex:

It appears that something inside you is so determined to resume painting that you are beginning to channel JMW Turner. Maybe it would be best to unleash it.

Hi, Alexcat,

Sorry to hear about your loss. Glad to see your enjoyment of life is returning.

Best wishes and hoping you enjoy life.

Thanks for a whimsical moment of fun.

Yours,
Randal

From a person's actions, we may infer attitudes, beliefs, --- and values. We do not know these characteristics outright. The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

Oh my, what a wonderful post....making me smile(and also bringing back a lovely memory....long ago when we lived in Edinburgh, we used to go to the a National Gallery on New Year's Day, to see the Turner watercolours, which were only "allowed out" once a year, in January, as they are so light sensitive....took me right back there with that, and it was such a nice thing)

And it's just a wonderful quote which I'm going to copy out into my wee Filofax of quotes and sayings and anything else which helps or makes me smile or motivates.

Thanks so much

Alex

A lovely story you shared! Inspiration is what helps us continue difficult journeys and be grateful that some has come your way....many people never have the advantage of a bit of muse.

"You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger darling.” "Forever optimistic with a theme and purpose." "My other pen is oblique and dippy."

That is one beautiful finger!

Sometimes the cat needs a new cat toy. And sometimes I need a new pen.

I wish I could draw as good as that shipwreck looks!

I'm almost tempted to see if I can get the same result next time I ink up :happyberet:
