Asa Pens Logo Too Prominent On The Barrel?

Last time I heard this much whining was at my grandson's preschool.

I agree with Tresconik...no big deal.

If you don't like the way the man has branded his pens, don't buy them. Maybe you guys would be happier with a custom pen...sure are enough pen makers on the forum.

Not whining at all. Just a sanely worded question raised about the aesthetic treatment on a pen, and without ad hominem tones.

I've bought Ranga pens (unbranded) in the past and this wil be my first ASA pen, and am seeing how people feel with the comparatively prominent engraving of the logo. As I've said, not a lot of my pens do this, aside from vintage Sheaffers and Parkers from the 1930s and 40s, whose engravings are still considerably smaller. Just sent an email to ASA and will see if my question can be addressed.

No matter the outcome, it will go on to further highlight the unique personalized service I've loved about pens from India.

I agree with Spaceink. Big logos are a definite no-no for me. The aesthetics of FPs are a big factor for me, besides performance and durability. Why else would I use a fountain pen in the first place? There's nothing stopping me from using a Uniball, if functionality is the first preference.

That being said, Mr Subramaniam is great with custom jobs, from what I hear, and is happy to address any quirks we might have in terms of logo placement and size. I have seen some of the clipless ASA pens, and they command reverence with their minimalist, unobtrusive design language.

Very best,

Rahul

This is my ASA Galactic with smaller logo. I ordered it two weeks back.

On ASA Daily you can hardly notice it. It is very well integrated on the ebonite's motive.

FYI, many vintage pens, Montblanc included, have big tainted logos, generally in white colour.

My dark brown ripple 'Daily' arrived and the logo is unobtrusive.

I would prefer that the company simply engraved "ASA" and left off the word "Pens" but that's an idiosyncratic preference that includes structures marked "Administration Building" or "Federal Office Building" when "Administration" and "Federal Offices" will do. Just a quirk and haven't lost any sleep over it.

My ASA Athlete only has "ASA Athlete India 2014" on it and is quite difficult to read. My daughter's I Can too has only "ASA I Can India 2015". Both are like the Galactic I posted above.

On my I Can Subramaniam did not get time to engrave as I wanted to get it before I left for UAE. so it is plain.

Yep, the word "Pen" doesn't need to be there at all. ASA--just three letters--is so much more elegant.

I love my ASA Spear with the smaller logo and even with the word "Pens" on it.

What a great writing pen with a nice textural feel in matte black. Good weight. And I think I've become hooked on that ebonite smell.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and they used to resurface the roads in the summertime. Nostalgic. Ebonite seems warmer in the hand, too.
