I trampled on my transparent cap and received a 580 replacement by return of post. Twsbi was really nice about it.

Seven years now since I bought my first ECO, and now own seven ECOs. Not a single one has cracked.

In the 12 years since my first TWSBI purchase (an ECO EF nib), l haven't had an issue. Since then I've bought close to 3 dozen TWSBIs total (4 this past month alone!) and so far, everything's fine.

TBH/TBF, I have stopped treating them as carelessly as I once had as a pen newbie: I no longer just chuck them in bag or pouch to rattle round loose. They are carried in some form of pocket or pouch where they clip and remain stationary during transport. Or they are stored in folios or pen drawers while at home. Some never leave my desk. All this may have some influence on my pens' durbility, but I cannot say for certain.

I recently got a new Diamond Mini and while I absolutely love it, I can't help but feel constant dread about the pen cracking. I'll continue to update this comment as time goes on... fingers crossed no issues arise and yes, I've loosened every segment of the pen.

My 2 TWSBI Eco pens never had a problem. I use them all the time for many years.

TWSBI outright failure has happened and I have tossed them except the 700 I wrote Philip and was sent a replacement cap at cost.  So that one is still going.  Maybe the solution is those metal bodied TWSBI’s and there was a micarta version or did I dream that?

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.
