The onyx in red is really a beauty.

Is that from the old group buy, Mehandiratta? Did Guider keep making this model?

actually, he still makes it... though I purchased from him at later date directly and not from group buy...

he is now making these in acrylic also...

The pen in use is Ranga Model 3C which I got from the Group Buy. The pen is fitted with JoWo 1.1 Dual tone nib and is inked with Diamine Eclipse.

I really love ebonite as the material for the pen and this white blue swirl is something amazing. You have to hold in the hand to actually see and feel the beauty of the material.

Does anyone have an orange premium ebonite pen from Ranga Pens in the bakul finish? Would be very interested in seeing pictures if you do! Thanks.

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Don't know if this is bakul or not. It is not very shiny, nor is it really matte. It is premium ebonite, though the term premium in this case refers only to the choice of colour and the price. The quality of the ebonite is exactly the same as far as I can tell.

Enlighten us, please... what are they? I think I see a Gama and a Ranga bamboo, but more information would be welcome. And the two on top... no idea! Who makes them, what are their names and model?

To me, the green and brown/orange looks like an ASA Genius, a pen I would like to try. But I could be wrong.

Sorry, in my enthusiasm to post the pic, forgot to mention what brands they are. From the bottom: Gama Kuyil, Black Matt finish, Ranga thin bamboo, Matt finish, ASA Genius (uncapped) and the top most jumbo pen is unbranded. Got it from a fountain pen collector from Kerala. Also bought a Prasad ebonite from him, but haven't used it yet.

You are absolutely right and the ASA Genius is an amazingly smooth writer, with its stock nib. Thanks

Thanks for clearing that up. Funny how color is such an important factor in recognition: I have an Asa Genius, using it these days, and still I didn't twig to that one! The Gama Kuyil somewhat, and mine has not been used or even out of its pouch for a while, so not so strange I didn't recognize that one... The Ranga bamboo was easier, and I use mine regularly too.
