I just received three ebonite pens in the mail today. These pens are from defunct Indian pen manufactures called Brahman and Madras. These pens are somewhat rare and I'm lucky to have found them.

Left to right: Madras pink band, Madras brown band and Brahman green ebonite.

The Brahman is smaller than I thought it would be, so I'm not sure if I'll keep it.

For reference, Left to right: Ratnamson Supreme, Madras pink band, Ranga Model 3, Madras brown band, Ratnamson 21 and Brahman green ebonite.

As you can see, the Madras pens are similar to the Ranga Model 3, which is modeled after the Duofold. When I have time, I'll replace the feeds with Sheaffer NN feeders and the nibs with higher quality Indian nibs from the recent group buy.

It's really great haul...congrats. May I ask where did you find the Madras Ebonites?

I would be interested in that Green Ebonite pen if you dont plan on keeping it, in terms of szing it looks liek it might be comparable to the Pelikan 205

ASA Nauka in blue-black swirl ebonite arrived a few days ago--only 10 days by airmail from Chennai to United States! Shown here with my dark brown-black ASA Patriot:

Love the Madras and especially the Brahmam; how big is the latter?

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

Nice looking pen and impressive penmanship. This Lamy ink is quite spectacular - probably I should try it too.

Ranga Bamboo smooth green yellow premium ebonite. with M jowo nib

I am not crazy about the color (although I generally like green, this shade just does not appeal to me), but I really like the aesthetics otherwise. I wonder if it's available, still, and in other shades/colors. And I would be interested to know what nibs are available with it.

Here is an empty ASA Athlete on a pocket scale. One may weigh it once in three days. When the figures approach 20.5 g it's time to fill it up.

This is a brilliant idea!
I've been struggling with opaque eyedropper pens and trying to gauge the ink level within them.
I was thinking about using a thin coffee stirrer straw as a dip-stick to check how much ink coats it once it's dipped into the barrel all the way down, but your method is much cleaner. No mess, nothing to clean or wipe afterwards, and you can weigh the thing all day without any ink getting lost in the process. Now, why didn't I think of that!
So I went online and picked up these scales, used for postage.
I picked up both the black and the silver one, at $2 and change each, I can't blame myself for not splurging here. Combined, out-the-door cost for both scales and shipping was $9.
I'll report back once I get these.
My thought is to weigh all of my eyedropper ebonites (and any opaque eyedroppers in general) while they're empty. And when I want to check the ink, I'll weigh the pen and see how far above the empty-weight the thing registers at. It will give me an idea how far away I am to refilling.
My worry is that some of my pens will be too heavy for this scale. At the finest grannularity, it says the scale can weigh from 1gm to 20gm (1gram increments). Or 20-50gm (at 5gm increments).
I currently have the following eyedropper pens (sorry no pictures)
Ebonite:
Ranga Bamboo (matte black) = Iroshizuku Syo Ro
Ranga 8 (matte black) = Iroshizuku Asa Gao
Ranga 4C (matte black) = Iroshizuku Kon Peki
Non-Ebonite:
Franklin Christoph Model 02 'intrinsic' = Iroshizuku Shin Kai
Franklin Christoph Model 03 'iterum' = Iroshizuku Take Sumi
Franklin Christoph Model 20 'marrietta' = Iroshizuku Yama Budo
Franklin Christoph Model 40 'panther' = Sheaffer Skrip Red
All of the above are fitted with 1.5 Jowo nibs, either FC, or Goulet, or from TeriM
I'll try to post pictures when I can.
