Thanks for posting this. I use it in my Pelikan M101N Red Tortoise. It is a perfect match.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

That's a beautiful red. I'll have to see how it looks next to my other favorite read, Diamine Red Dragon.

It is a wow. Very intestesting red. I hesitated to by a red color due to lack of usage, but i might end up with a bottle of this.

Thank you.

This is nice. Would be cool to see it in comparison to some of the darker, bloodier reds out there. Thank you for the review.

I'm just thinking of getting my first Sailor ink, and this might be it. Could you possibly enlighten me as to the dryness/wetness of Sailor inks? I find that my Pelikan pens are too wet for me with my favourite Iro inks, as are some of my very finely tuned Spencerian nibs, and I'm trying to decide if that means I have to use nothing but Pelikan inks in those two types of pens. Any insights out there about Sailor?

And thanks for the great review!

Sailor inks are generally quite wet and lubricating.

I would love a comparison with Diamine Oxblood. It looks very nice.

Hi,

Thanks for your review.

Not entirely irrelevant, but from where do I buy the sailors ink from Japan? The ones sold here in India cost twice as much the ones I will get by importing directly from Japan.

I would be great if someone can link me to a web store which keeps all the sailor inks and ships worldwide.

Regards

Dhruv

We all buy kobe inks from cool-japan on ebay. Not sure if he ships to India.

They are also available from Vanness Pens in the USA:

I had a chat with cool-Japan a couple of weeks ago regarding one of his pens on auction, he doesn't ship to India. In fact, he doesn't ship to almost 100 countries.

Vanness Pens doesn'tship outside USA. Plus those prices aren't exactly stellar, I can get Iroshizuku inks for less than this.

  • 9 months later...

I have this ink loaded in a vintage Waterman #52 Red Ripple, and on good paper (Kobe or Tomoe River) the sheen is outrageously beautiful!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorites...
