Blue On Blue Pif: Snoopy Alert!

Sailor Kenshin

Recommended Posts

Up for grabs: two beginner or student-level pens.

First, the Pelikan Twist, in blue. Fun and oddball-looking little thing with typical Pelikan entry-level quality.

Next...yes, you are not seeing things...THEE 'Snoopy' pen, of world renown. It's got a sorta kinda Montblanc-like thing on the plastic cap. The review of this pen is somewhere here on FPN, and also up on YouTube.

Comes with original packaging. There will be two winners. Each winner gets one pen.

No one who has won a PIF from me previously is eligible. Please respond here if you are a beginning user and collector of fountain pens and let me know why these appeal to you.

USA addresses only, please. Give me your address through PM when your name is selected, or someone else gets the chance for Twist or Snoopy. Thanks!

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I'd like the Snoopy pen but in no way qualify to win this PiF, sadly... I want it because I am a lifelong Snoopy fan - I'm speaking decades.

So, since I cannot win this PiF, and I have not seen this in local stores here in Curaçao, please do the decent thing: tell me where I can find it (no eBay please though, I have my reasons...) for myself. Because I gotta have this pen.

I am a sucker for entry level pens. The Snoopy is interesting, but I've always found Pelikan entry level pens, including the Pelikano and the Pelikano Jr. to be as usable as many more prestigious, expensive pens. I'd be glad to add either to my colection. thanks for doing a PIF!

I've been using fountain pens for a few months now and am trying to expand my small collection slowly. I now have several entry level pens. Both of these pens would be great additions for me, and I do love Snoopy. Thanks for the opportunity to try for these pens.

I would love the Twist! I really like the unique and interesting design and just the playfulness of the pen!!

Well - I don't want to win the pen for my own use. I would like to win it so I can donate it to a friend's classroom.

It is at a small school for children with disabilities, The students have a variety of physical and/or cognitive impairments.

It can be difficult it is to get any student to want to participate in handwriting activities of any kind. Writing tasks become even more difficult for students with cognitive delays or physical limitations.

last year I had given a couple fountain pens to my friend. I filled one with red for grading/marking student's work. Soon her students began calling it her "fancy dancy" pen and would ask if they could use it. :eureka: I got an idea ....

I shopped around for a good variety of pens, different sizes and weights, nib styles, grips etc. until I had enough pens for her classroom,

The students enjoy using the pens so much.. they were truly looking forward to doing their written work. They were also so pleased to be able to use the pens, they took very excellent care of them. Sometimes kids do like to put things that don't belong to them in their pockets. The students took it upon themselves to monitor each other and made aure all the pens were accounted for at the end of day.

When I was shopping around, I looked at these pens because I thought the grip would work really well for some students. But, I was buying a lot of pens so also had to work within my budget.

I love that the kids took pride in their "fancy dancy" pens. It is fun for me to be the "caretaker" of the pens. I don't mind it one bit whenever I have a handful of pens to flush and refill for the students. It means that they are using them and doing their work :D

I would like to add that I did submit an entry for a PIF last week. I didn't win the PIF, but that FPN member sent me a message that she had a pen she wanted to donate to the classroom. :)

Although I would love to win one of these for the classroom, I do feel like I did kind of "win" one for the kids from the kindness of a FPN member.

Thanks for giving folks a chance to win one - Jill

I'd like to enter this PIF! That Snoopy pen combines two of my favorite hobbies together. I've read almost every Peanuts strip published and I've just started getting into the world of fountain pens. Thanks for the chance.

I'm a noob too, and building a collection, and a lover of Peanuts. Although that said, I would kind of like to throw my support behind j-e-g. I'm a speech therapist and we folks who love kids with special needs ought to stick together. :D

Hello Ripperg9 -

If you would be kind enough to PM me - I would like to know your son's age and a teeny bit of what he likes... I just might have a little something for him ;) Even if he wins this one.. it never hurts to have a different type to try out.

Dixie was kind enough to support me.. but now I am hoping your boy wins :)

(I won't be able to mail it out until next week - because I will be "Gone FISHING" :D

Hey Ripperg( -

I am just noticing your photo... Is that a Sheaffer TM model in black ?

Woo doggies, I found a pen-pencil set in the original case in terrific shape. It is brgundy with the 2 tone triumph nib.

I was surprised that It flushed so easily. So I decided to give it a little "juice" to take it for a test drive... It really writes nicely. I enjoyed playing with it for a while and then cleaned it out again and put it back in it's little box.

They must be well built pens or someone took excellent care of the set. Are you a vintage Sheaffer fan ?

I always wonder what are people's favorite pens, but it seems folk have a hard time narrowing it down to just one :)

It is a Sheaffer Touchdown, when I replaced the sac it took a lager size so I am assuming it is the first year model before the TM. I am not an expert though. I would be interested in seeing a picture of your set. The did make really good pens, I have an old balance that still writes like a champ. I am a fan of vintage Sheaffers I have collected and repaired a few, I have not had much experience with the newer pens. Not really the same company anymore. I am still hoping to acquire a Sheaffer PFM.

I am not sure I will ever find my favorite pen, but I do have a small list of pens I would like to own some day.
