My scanner doesn't handle blues well so I mailed my page back to Amber on Monday. I added a writing (Scribbling? Scrawling? Those who have seen my attempts at drawing know why I am a photographer.) sample of some NOS Sanford Penit Washable Royal Blue I found in an antique store a while back. It was very underwhelming compared to the Kobe and PR inks Amber sent but it is an addition to the data base.

I posted my sheet back to Amberlea yesterday. Will probably take about 7 days from Aus. I like the idea of trying this with other inks :-)

My sheet finally made it to Curaçao. Tomorrow I have a kind of busy day, so I will try over the weekend.

On another note, I do have some Parker Mocha cartridges, they do not say Penman though. Three 5 cartridge packages all told, all of them should probably get water added. I had many more and sent them out into the world as a PiF last year.

I also scored a whole bottle of PP Mocha some months ago. It was seriously thickened so I did add some water. I'd like some really small sample vials to share it out in, because it's just the 50ml, less two fills... and I am not willing to part with the bottle either!

Still waiting on my sheet(s)...

If they arrive tomorrow, then I'll have the weekend! It will still be a humid mess here

Found this on my phone. Not well taken but at least I have some record of it here:

cool

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I thought I would find that a diluted Akkerman Shocking Blue would reveal it's just masstone Penman BUT it's not quite. It is ever so slightly green, and when diluted loses much of its sheen. So I have to conclude, Noodler's Blue is the closest I have but the shading and sheen are not up to the level though the actual color is pretty much spot on....maybe a very nano amount greener but that would have to be for a debate.

I know how you feel. I hate when work interrupts my more amusing and scintillating activities... ;)

Do we have any serious contenders yet, or are we still dancing around the flagpole?

Amberlea can I make a request? Two swabs: one of PPS on the very edge of the paper and another of Diamine Asa Blue on the edge of another paper. Scanned with the edges touching. Please and thank you.
