My TWSBI Eco is all inked up with Noodlers Blue right now. BTW, do we have to do anything in particular to play? I guess we have to give a writing sample and then scan it and put it up, right?

We still have more than 20 slots available. Anyone want to go again with different blues?

So neat, so thorough, so lovely. So wished I could un-post mine and make it neat now . . . :(

(LOVE your block capitals)

Wonderfully scientific and clear. I'm with TAS. You've just changed the game and re-set the bar. Good job.

Hey, Amber, if you are going to cue me up for Noodler's Blue I can also do Sailor Preparing To Go Out (which is pretty rare) and Bay State Blue, interested?

It won't be anywhere as nice as everyone else's.

Don't worry, I'm sure I will lower the bar a bit further to make everyone look good.

Amberlea's sheets made it to Australia! :-)

I'm currently away from home and my ink hoard in the UK , but I have a few inks here that I thought worth comparing to PPS. I've tried 5 inks; 3 Sailor-made inks and 2 Diamine blues; none were a perfect match. The closest, in my eyes, is Kobe #37 Island Blue, which is generally a neutral blue, and with that lean away from magenta, the same a PPS. It also shades well, and has sheen in a wet pen on appropriately surface-sized paper e.g. Tomoe

In my view the order of matching, starting from closest, is:

* Kobe #37

* Kobe Ur Lapis

* Shumi No Bungu Hako

* Sargasso Sea

* Cornflower

It's worth mentioning that I got bleed-through on Amberlea's paper with the Sargasso Sea

I'm attaching a scan of my comparisons. As usual with scanners and computer monitors, these are not accurate representations. The cream paper threw off the scanner settings.

My sheet will be off to Amberlea in the post tomorrow. I'd be grateful if Amberlea could re-scan the sheet more accurately & post it again :-)

@Migo: Both Sargasso and Shumi look like they have a bit of purple-ish tint... is this true? It is kinda late so maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Hi Amber...I'd be willing to join the party. Has anyone posted a list of which inks have been compared already? I have a lot of blue ink but don't want to duplicate what has already been done. If no list yet, I'll go through the posts and create a list. I'll get the money off to Sinistral1 if you need more volunteers.

Hi Luma,

Yes - both have purple-ish undertones. It's very common for Sailor blues in particular.
